Who benefited from the porkbarrel projects pushed through by Landrieu
self

Posted on 9/12/2005, 4:10:38 AM by airedale

Senator Landrieu on FOX News this morning defended the New Iberia harbor/channel dredging that was considered a boondoggle (as reported by the press) because she wanted it for the jobs it would generate in that depressed area. I was wondering who benefited from doing the work and from the work when completed and what their relationship is to Senator Landrieu and her family as well as to the Democrat machine that runs that state. Did this project line the pockets of supporters and machine members at the expense of those who suffered when New Orleans flooded?

"Included in the Senate bill is $596 million in funding for 107 Louisiana projects."

From her Senate page, the detail has been taken down.

Maybe the Levee Board used it for building up the levees.

After watching Landrieu on FNS, I lost some respect for the people of Louisiana---for electing that devious demagogue.

I'll bet it has but as you know it never really goes away. Bet it's still in the cache or the Wacky Wayback Machine can find the page that's been taken down pretty quickly. Think I may take a look.

NOLA was the reason Landriu won as well as Blanco. With the Rats leaving the sinking N.O. maybe we now have a chance to elect some good people.

Dang I am slow sometimes. No wonder she is making so much noise trying to blame Bush. She knows she's toast without NO so she's trying to get the sympathy vote.

I couldn't believe that jerk on FOX the other day! My wife was about to hurl a small table at her through the TV. The FOX reporter nailed her, though. Apparently in a moment that I missed (out of interest in keeping the my lunch) at the end Landrui said it wasn't the time to start pointing fingers. The FOX reporter shot back, "YOU started it!" At least that's what my wife related to me.

Landrieu totally lost it. Laura Ingraham pointed out how the corrupt senator defended the mayor and governor, saying that they couldn't get government workers to work on a SUNNY day. Ingraham's dissection of that remark was quite revealing.

From her cached website,

Protecting our Coast, Getting Our Fair Share: Restoring America's Wetlands

A leader in issues dealing with both energy and the environment, Senator Landrieu aggressively fights for Louisiana jobs and continues to guide her colleagues toward development of a national energy policy that will increase domestic production and lessen the country’s dependence on foreign oil.

As a member of the Senate Energy Committee, Landrieu has been an effective and tireless advocate for saving Louisiana’s vanishing coastline and wetlands, demanding Louisiana’s fair share of offshore oil and gas proceeds to stop the erosion and investing in Louisiana’s future.

Stopping the erosion doesn't seem to include stopping flooding to preserve lives and property.

She admits she stole the money from tax payers but it's ok, it went to people.

she wanted it for the jobs it would generate in that depressed area.

Somebody should save that from the google cache, before it's cleaned up -- it will just disappear, if it's at all incriminating.

That's why blanko & co were visiting the Astrodome complex yesterday. A little late, most are no longer there to hear her dribble. They're now in homes, moved to other parts of Texas and other states...NEVER TO RETURN. There gone...few to return. LOL...

If troopers and others had stuck a gun in my face with attack dogs preventing me from leaving N.O.'s. Why would anyone want to return...during a disaster a person is scared anyway then they have to come face to face with guns. Oh please...shoot to kill were their orders.
