Today I heard that this weekend Ray Nagin left New Orleans with his family moved to Houston bought a house and enrolled his kids in school. I can't remember where I heard it or read it. Has anyone else heard that? If so where? I can't find it now.
I wonder if he is leaving town to try to avoid criminal charges.
I heard Dallas ?
Dallas. And relocating doesn't void criminal prosecution, so someone is feeding you with a shovel.
If he moved, I'm surprised he's not settling in Las Vegas which might be more his kind of town.
I think a good chunk of the school year has been cancelled for the city of NO, so relocating his wife & kiddos makes a lot of sense.
But why move to another state? All of Louisiana isn't offline, is it?
Good point!
Nagin, who is currently employed by the city of New Orleans as Mayor, complains about the long commute.....

ROFL
Could be the decision was made by the Missus.
"Nagin, who is currently employed by the city of New Orleans as Mayor, complains about the long commute...."
And the lack of public transportation between the two cities... : )
It's understandable up to a point, if that's where family is, but then again, Mr. Nagin is still mayor of what's left of a city (a city which apparently requires its police officers to reside within its borders) and has a responsibility to not even have an appearance of abandoning it.
I think his "connection" was forced to move to Dallas..................what's a mayor supposed to do?
But what about the poor people?
Of course, Ray could have just sent them up the road to Baton Rouge. . .or even done a public mea culpa; and home schooled the kids for the school year. Surely a number of reasonable options. . .
But no. . .he is shameless; and he is outta there.
Funny how the Demrats go; where no Repub would ever tread.
He hasn't really had anything bad to say about the Prez either - ever since their meeting a week ago.

Long commute? He'll be stylin' in a Greyhound Bus. No short yellow bus for that dude!
I think the entire political family of LA should be recalled and sent into exile; and they cannot go to Texas. . .
I would recommend Cuba for starters. . .
I want to see the cartoonists in the MSM depict the Mayor's 'relocation'. Beyond it's own ugliness. . .it is pretty funny.
I figure he'll move into a hotel in NO, while his family stays in the home in TX. His family should not be forced to stay in a city which is still under evacuation orders & may be under those orders for quite some time. Leaving his family in the city where many of his city's people are now living serves as an example, letting them know they should settle in for the long haul, cuz NO is not going to be fixed right as rain overnight. The population of Baton Rouge has been doubled overnight & 80 miles is a pretty good distance to commute everyday, especially with traffic snarled with all of the new, extra people now living there.
