I'll wager Dowd, Krugman and the rest of the leftist lot at the Slimes are viewing this new business initiative with considerable trepidation.

What arrogance. $50.00 would buy an awful lot of better quality manure than these twerps shovel.

Starting Sept. 19, the New York Times will charge $49.95 a year for online users to access 22 columnists including Tom Friedman, David Brooks, Maureen Dowd, Paul Krugman, Bob Herbert, Nicholas Kristof and Frank RichBwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!
And Delta should raise rates...

Use Firefox with popup/adblock enabled. I NEVER see junk on Drudge's site.I get one pop under ad at Drudge with Firefox.

Fifty bucks a year?
Okay.... see, what the NY Times inexplicably fails to remember is that those who are most likely to "subscribe" to their columnists are liberals, and liberals prefer to have their stuff given to them for "free" by the government after the government has confiscated it from their neighbors.
This move by the NYT is one of the oddest things I ever heard of.

$49.95 for Maureen Dowd?
Dowd couldn't get two dollars if she stood in spikey heels all night long in Times Square on a Saturday night.

Who in their right mind would pay $49.95 to read the rancid thoughts of Frank Rich?
In that context, getting Mo Dowd, Paul Krugman and Bob Herbert for free is hardly a "bonus".

Let's see - I don't go there. Sonow I'm suppose topay $49 a year to not go there????No, you've got it backwards... For only $49 a year, they won't send you any columns, and won't force you to go to the web site.
Actually, it's a heck of a deal!

Do we get a discount if we say we're from DU or Move-On?
Let's see next week, they'll offer the $9.99 special.
Thanks for the ping!

Kind of silly considering the lockstep mentality of the Liberal MSM. It doesn't matter what the issue is, you will find the same garbage in all the Liberal papers repeating the same exact talking points. One rag is as bad as the next one.
I would love to see the Deer in the headlights look on the editors face when they tell him circulation sunk even further with this bright idea.

Webmaster: "Our web site traffic is stagnant. No growth."
Editor: "Well, let's start charging for content. That should improve our web traffic."
Now we have a clear insight of how liberals should never run a business or make business decisions.

I'm wondering if the public libraries and universities are going to be ponying up for "subscriptions" to these columnists. Many already pay for subscriptions to the NYT hardcopy anyway.
This would come under your government confiscation heading, and would be par for the course.

When I was in high school (c. '60s) it was common for some Social Studies teachers to mandate that students subscribe to the NYT. (At least, it was common around here - - the Philly area.) When I was in 9th grade, I had to buy a subscription to the NYT.
You could be right - - maybe there's some kind of wink-and-nod scheme going on here between the NEA (teachers union) and the NY Times, like there was with the union mob and Jim Wright's book.

My prediction, 6 months. (or the Slimes will hide the OL Subscription numbers).
