I don't remember that either House or Senate was referenced. As for the proposed BIpartisan House and Senate hearing, Pelosi has said the dems won't show up, and Hillary is shouting that we need another 9/11 Commission. Bah Humbug to both of those demwits.

Caller says that 70% of the people of NO were renters, not property owners. Can we document that? I was just asking a friend yesterday for that exact statistic. (My guess is that is comes from the 2000 census.)

Jesse also didn't mention how most of the volunteers (including those waiting to get in the next day, turned away by LA officials), were white... not black.
I think every able-bodied man and woman (without children), should go back to NO and clean up and build their own city... to get a sense of pride and work... while receiving whatever funds (only the amount they received before and help with clothing and temp housing).

I think a lot of them will not go back, they have experienced to much kindness in the communities that took them in. They have to see that there are better ways to live.
