Tropical Storm Rita Live Thread

Tropical Storm Rita has developed from TD 18 in the Atlantic Ocean. TS Rita is currently located north of Hispaniola, the eastern tip of Cuba, and ESE of Nassau, Bahamas. Hurricane watches and warnings are in effect for portions of Florida. Check for local weather statements.

I kid you not....the channel 7 reporter in Key Largo was just talking about possible storm surge and used the word "hopefully" in reference to it being high. Anything for the video footage, people.

we all slept like logs here in Islamorada, too. Even our little one slept in this morning. Of course, having the house shuttered up made it seem much earlier than it was.
