BINGHAMTON, NY--The activities of supporters of four Ithaca-area protesters who throw blood on an American flag, a recruiting center and a soldier are expected to cost the City of Binghamton at least $15,000.00.
News 10 Now reports that city officials were forced to spend at least that amount in overtime to provide security during the trial of Ithaca-area protesters, who dubbed themselves the "St. Patrick's Day Four."
The four, Peter DeMott, Theresa Grady, Claire Grady and Daniel Burns, were tried in federal court in Binghamton earlier this month on charges ranging from conspiracy to vandalism.
During the trial, various anti-war groups, made up primarily of activists from Ithaca, staged demonstrations outside the federal building.
City officials say they don't know where they'll find that money in the budget. The Binghamton Police Chief says he is already looking for ways to prepare for the four's sentencing, in January.
The four were convicted of damaging government property and entering a military station for unlawful purposes
Let em go to jail. Even convicts are patriotic. Not to mention, convicts need lovin too!
BWHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH!
So were the four convicted? If so, what was the sentence?
Whoops -- nevermind the conviction part. What was the sentence?
Why do they additional security during the trial?
If the vile leftists protest and continue to cause vandalism outside the court, charge them as well.
Repeat as necessary.
Don't be afraid to follow through on the charges though. Too many communities lock up protesters and then drop all charges after the tv cameras have left.
DUH! Just raise taxes.
Chain the losers to a garbage truck and let them serve the community (without benefits) until they pay off their trial. They screw up, the day doesn't count.

I hope that the soldier in question sues...and sues...and sues some more.Bankrupt the b**tards!

I hear that Parris Island has a nice brig to hold em in. I only ask that it's televised so that I can groove on their pain.
BLL-
I've always thought that Binghamton was considerably more conservative than Ithaca (of course any city would be)
Wasn't Binghamton in a "red" county of New York State?
The same problem is occuring in DC, I assume. Free speech is one thing, but a free ride on taxpayers to cover costs to protect it is another. After a period, couldn't those folks be charged as public nuisances and sentenced with costs?
yeezzzzz.. I want to groove on they're pain as well.
bwhahahahaha
I guess that Broome County is red, but the city, like more cities, is blue.
I'm sending soap and KY jelly.

Thanks for the ping and the update.
