No surprises in who voted against him. Its the usual list of obstructionists & liberal panders including Turbin Durbin, Kennedy, Kerry, Clinton, Cantwell, and pair of unionheads from Hawaii.

The list, of course, includes every Dim senator who has '08 aspirations. Who says this vote wasn't partisan?

The two SD Senators voted yea, no real surprise Johnson voted yea though, he's already looking to 2008, and his Mike Rounds problem. I am, however, surprised Patty "Osama Momma" Murry voted yea.

Yeah, all the Democrat Presidential hopefuls voted nay. Would you want a President who's afraid of NOW?

I'm surprised... Patty Murray (D-Washington) voted Yay.

That can only be because she's so dense she hit the wrong button.

Let's hope that Jim Burling was wrong about Roberts perspective on property rights, as he wrote in that article.

Many in Florida have done well, very well, off of abusing the property rights of the citizenry. When a Liberal like Nelson votes for a man who shares Jeb's view that we have enough property rights protections already, I get acutely nervous.

But, the brothers Bush seem to have a much better understanding of politics than I or the Democrats have.

Wouldn't it be nice if Roberts was more of an originalist than his action in Nevada indicated?

Well, well, well. Looks like the (D) Senators from Red States all voted for Roberts. What a shock.

Well, not "Dungheap" Harkin -- he voted NO.

Iowa is a barely red state though.

I am shocked that Cantwell (WA-D) voted nay.

She won't be challenged from the left. Doesn't she know that she is supposed to position herself as a centrist for the upcoming elction in '06.

Maybe she didn't realize it.

The following states have two chuckleheads representing them-- California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey and New York. Six states were exactly what Carter won against Reagan in 1980.

The following were the split delegations who voted no-- Biden (DE), Bayh (IN), Harkin (IA), Stabeno (MI), Dayton (MN), Reid (NV), Reed (RI), Cantwell (WA).

Bayh is definitely running for president and polishing his hard-left credentials. Reid represents the only other state in the mix carried solidly by Bush but must be excused because he's (1)the minority leader, and (2)must take orders from the hard left due to said position. The marginal state senators (Harkin, Stabenow and Dayton) can be excused on the basis of stupidity. The others are merely representing their fifth-columnist majority constituents.

My two RINO's from Ohio both voted "yea". But did Voinovich cry before he voted?

Yeah, I have to say that Lieberman is alright.
I wish he'd change parties.

But Dodd also voted for Roberts, and he was just re-elected, and is as Liberal as Liberal gets.

I honestly think that, given that neither is in any political jeopardy, they simply voted honestly. There was no reason not to approve Roberts, so they voted for him.

Which is how it's supposed to work.
Doesn't mean I've become a Dodd-lover.
But I do approve of Dodd's and Lieberman's votes.
And I'm not really surprised by them either.

Drat!

I was going to go for the sure bet of Kerry & Kennedy, then go look at MSNBC, but it was right there in your comment.

I wonder if Vegas has a betting line stuff like that?
