I'd opt out of a book and go to a website. This one has a lot of good information

bah I can't even do a semi clever bit of sarcasm correctly. When my HTML goes that means it's time to go home.

Here's a case where you CAN tell a book by its cover.
If you find a book that won't show the images of the buildings collapsing, and people leaping to their deaths to avoid the flames, you'll know it's a bunch of PC cr@p.

That's a good question. I'll have to come back later and see if there are recommendations.
Also: Is there a video on the market that contains news coverage? It seems like it is illegal in the US to actually show footage of the destruction of the Twin Towers, and the people suffering, leaping, and dying that terrible day. The networks won't show it (I wonder why?). But I wonder if the marketplace sells it.

Skip the books. The web's the place to search for this stuff. The kid will do a better report from web resources.

How young of a person?
May I recommend "Perfect Soldiers" by Terry McDermott.
Serious stuff but you might want to read the reviews and/or read the book before you purchase the book or check it out of the library.

BTW, David Horowitz has an excellent book "Unholy Alliance" but again, serious stuff and may not be suitable for a very young person.

Only if you want the whole report written on the right margin...

I have kept "America's Heroes, Inspiring Stories of Courage, Sacrifice and Patriotism" Published by Peter L. Bannon on my family room table since receiving it as a gift in 2001.
Excellent pictures and accounts of before, during and after the historic event. I'll try and get a link for you.

"on top of the world" by Tom Barbash (the title is all lowercase BTW)
A story of Cantor Fitzgerald (NY bond traders) it has a very human focus and provides details not seen in other books. An easy read for even younger readers, the photo section shows the real-life people who lived and those who died. There is also a photo of a MK82 marked for delivery to Saddam.
Once I started to read, I had trouble putting it down.
Enjoy.

That's what he found at the local library. No kidding. "Bush is a terrorist". Thanks, librarian.
