"Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace said Friday that since leaving the mainstream networks behind to join Fox he's noticed an "astonishing" amount of biased reporting on the part of his former colleagues.
"I came from the mainstream media and I didn't used to feel this way," Wallace told WRKO Boston radio host Howie Carr.
In radio interviews he does to promote his Sunday broadcast, Wallace said, the questions he gets are almost always slanted against the Bush administration.

In the "news" category these days, Fox "is" a major network. Their ratings now surpass their competitors.
Leftwing media bias was much more subtle years ago, so I will give Chris Wallace some slack. During the the past 2-3 years, however, it has become "astonishing" how far the media will go to trash the President.

I had the same reaction as you did...he's either dumb are not being totally truthful. Either one is not good.

I have in-laws who feel the same way. I ask her if she doesn't like Bush's values. She said no. It was at that point that I lost all hope in talking with her.
All my mother in law does is tell me how Halliburton is going to take her SS check and how Bush implemented the draft and gave all the NO contracts to his cronies. Of course in the Star Ledger it mentioned only Becchtel and The Shaw group. I told her the Shaw group was run by the chairman of the NO DNC. She called me a liar.
The few times I have seen Chris Wallace on FNC, he reminds me of a cross between Paula Zahn and Bill Krystal, a sneering a sexual possum who hates conservatives and GW.
I have to take issue with this. About 30 years ago, a Republican President ushered in price/wage controls, established OSHA and EPA, and presided over numerous other liberal policies. The Republican Party was more liberal 30 years ago. Please refer to Senators like Jacob Javits, Mark Hatfield, Bob Packwood, Lowell Weicker, and not to forget Robert Dole.
In your urge to hate Bush, please do not rewrite the history of Republican conservatism. While Bush has not followed the grass-roots conservative policies on some issues (like spending and immigration), on almost everything else, he is far to the right of Nixon and Ford.
She must be my co-worker. I had Fox News up with a picture of President Bush visited Mississippi after Katrina. She, mistakingly thinking that he was in New Orleans, went on a rant about how he was "getting in the way of the rescuers". When I pointed out that he was a full state away she immediately switched gears and began to rant about how he should be visiting the Super Dome but he was too much of a coward.
I pointed out the contradiction in her stance and she snapped "Well, I don't like him. He's too smug and sure of himself.".
I said very dryly, "Usually that is called confidence by normal people." She turned bright red and flounced off.
So did the New York Times, which endorsed Nixon's boss for President. Back then "Republican" meant "not a racist Southerner", and little else.
Actually he would have but don't allow reality to in any way block your historical illiteracy. Or have you forgotten Nixon?

I think this Miers pick is a legitimate question mark as do many others on this forum and about a dozen genuine conservative commentators. I think that is healthy, and the debate should be joined (as long as we don't devolve into a nasty, leftoid, name-calling battle royal). Just my opinion.

Most Libbers, and anti-GW'ers . . . like your aunt . . . just don't know how to deal with facts. Many, many in our nation just drink the koolaid poured by the MSM'ers and don't even want to exercise their noodle. They just go silent when given an opportunity to participate in a factual debate.

I'm surrounded by Hispanics in my tiny Texas-town. Yes, even some illegals. History dictates that they would all be leaning to the Democrats, right? WRONG!!.
Our local Hispanic population is probably 90% conservative. Why? I know it's wrong to generalize but I'm too damned old to change. Anyway . . . the Hispanics I've been exposed to in my 52 West-Texas, Redneck years are . . .
1. . . . strongly pro-family.
2. . . . devout Catholics.
3. . . . proud, hard working, and have latched on to the American Dream with an inspirational passion. I know of seven of the children who graduated from high school here. All had straight A's . . . four were Valedictorians of their classes . . . two were ONLY Salutatorians.
4. . . . lastly and most importantly . . . the heads of four Hispanic families on my street insist that their children view Free Republic every day and bring at least one topic to the dinner table at every meal so the family can discuss BOTH sides of the subject. IN ENGLISH!! The first language of the parents is Spanish . . . but they insist it be English for their children.
Their favorite FRee Republic discussions are articles written or posted by Mia T, MeekOneGOP, Steyn, and Grampa Dave. You made their list today, Mark. You'll be discussed at noon. My seven year-old girlfriend, Monica, called then sent me an email linking me to your post. Seven years old! And already a FReeper. Because of folks like y'all.
With their priorities, Hispanics should naturally be conservatives. They don't have a home with the liberals where everything goes. Many are starting to wake up.
Be proud, folks . . . you're making a difference. Even in the communities that have "historically" been the Liberals for the asking. Free Republic has even motivated the three illegals I know to hire attorneys to become REAL American citizens. One of them has been here for 30 years . . . but he sees the damage that illegal immigration is doing to his adopted land so he wants to set an example for his children. Yes, he's Monica's father and he refuses to let me marry her. LOL.
I'm disabled and can't join y'all in an active way . . . but I always manage to log on to FRee Republic at least once a day, regardless of how my day is going. Mainly so I can find at least one story of how my fellow FReepers are taking on our enemies. Your post did it for me today, Mark. I thank you. You and the others who refuse to give in to our enemies are the ONLY reason I manage to keep a somewhat optimistic attitude.
