Chris Wallace: Media Bias 'Astonishing'
NewsMax.com ^ | 16 October 2005 | Carl Limbacher

"Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace said Friday that since leaving the mainstream networks behind to join Fox he's noticed an "astonishing" amount of biased reporting on the part of his former colleagues.

"I came from the mainstream media and I didn't used to feel this way," Wallace told WRKO Boston radio host Howie Carr.

In radio interviews he does to promote his Sunday broadcast, Wallace said, the questions he gets are almost always slanted against the Bush administration.

Thanks for the kind words: "Their favorite FRee Republic discussions are articles written or posted by Mia T, MeekOneGOP, Steyn, and Grampa Dave. You made their list today, Mark. You'll be discussed at noon. My seven year-old girlfriend, Monica, called then sent me an email linking me to your post. Seven years old! And already a FReeper. Because of folks like y'all."

I'm in total agreement with you re the Hispanic Americans I have know, particuliaryly since we moved to California in 1971.

" the Hispanics I've been exposed to in my 52 West-Texas, Redneck years are . . .
1. . . . strongly pro-family.
2. . . . devout Catholics.
3. . . . proud, hard working, and have latched on to the American Dream with an inspirational passion."

Lets add one more category, and that is the high numbers of young Hispanics volunteering for our military. The Hispanic/American, who is our painter of choice has two nephew in the Marines. He tried to enlist after 9/11 and was told there was no re demand for a 50 year old painter. His nephews signed up for the corp, and I think that they have re upped. They were in their second tour of Iraq when he and his crew painted our house this past spring.

Chris Wallace was under intense scrutiny when he came over to Fox and he's held up well. As for his dad, I read an article recently where Mike Wallace was asked about FNC. He said they're doing a great job and Brit Hume is an outstanding journalist.

I don't trust Mike Wallace and no one should. He has said he will lie in the course of his work. He has said he's a journalist first and an American second. He's said he would watch American troops get ambushed before he's give up his "objectivity" and warn them.

Chris, on the other hand, seems determined to play it right down the middle. People who say Fox is biased to the right are just flat out wrong. If they're so right-wing, why are Geraldine Ferraro, Susan Estrich and Wesley Clark be on their payroll? Could you imagine seeBS retaining three staunch conservatives and giving them air time?

No, Chris Wallace is now simply projecting his employers line, and if and when he goes to another employer he will
echo their montra. JMHO

He's also playing to Howie Carr's audience. When he started doing his schtick on Carr, the listeners' started sending
nasty messages to Howie complaining about Wallace, one particular Friday. Can't remember the details, but
listeners decided to believe their lying eyes rather than Wallace's spinning.

OTOH, maybe Wallace did have a real, non-company line, epiphany.

Mrs Clinton, how did the Rose Law Firm files end up in your office?

"I don't remember!"

Mrs. Clinton, when did you order the body of Vincent Foster removed and dumped in Fort Marcy Park to avoid a scandal?

"I don't remember!"

Mrs. Clinton, how many years has it been since your husband had sex with you?

"37 years, 6 months, 14 days!"

"I was just funnin' with ya...you're always going after the good conservatives that question Dubya's decisions like you did in the post that I replied to."

I admit, at times I am over bearing. A flaw that I cannot seem to correct, but try to keep in check.

My dear old mother says ... "You always think you are right".

I reply ... "Mom, of course I do. So does everyone else. For if they did not believe they were right, they would have to acknowledge that they were lying".

" I think this Miers pick is a legitimate question mark as do many others on this forum and about a dozen genuine conservative commentators. I think that is healthy, and the debate should be joined (as long as we don't devolve into a nasty, leftoid, name-calling battle royal). Just my opinion."

Without a doubt the Miers nomination is a "legitimate question mark". I also think that the debate is "healthy" and "should be joined".

My disagreement is at the inuendos and denegrating, insulting remarks, made by some, as to the womans character, and towards President Bush.

As I have stated here, I am not a fervent supporter of Harriet Miers. She is an unknown to me. I do however, believe the hearings should take place and the Constitution, we are all screaming about, is allowed to dictate Ms Miers future.

I am also aware, that to many that will be too late, and their fear that she will be confirmed will be realized.

Finally ... I am from a rather old school that believes we elected a president, for good or bad, and that he has the Constitutional right to nominate. We have a Constitutional right to yell we don't like it. The Senate has the right to confirm or deny. In the final analysis I would hope that we keep those rights and not have them usurped by the courts.

There is NO bias.

These are political operatives for the DNC.

Period.

And until our side wakes up to THAT fact, these hacks will continue to run this country as they have for 40 years.

30 years ago - he would NOT have been able to run as a Republican!

Nor would most Dem's of 40 years ago...be able to run nowaday's as a Demosocialistlyingleftistmarxist lib...

Heck for that matter...JFK was more conservative than 98.9% of Republican's in politics these days....

OT. I was listening to WRKO with Jay Diamond last night and what a nutjob he is. Is Carr a lib? I've never heard him. I sent Jay an email calling him on how liberal he was and his reply was, "you poor slob". Any else hear him last night?

I wouldn't hold out much hope for Chris but this may keep his mind open.

I HEARD Wallace say this on Howie Carr's show... and my jaw hit the keyboard!

Howie began criticizing the newswires for their leftist, anti-Bush slant saying that they used to be more fair... Wallace said... “Uh... I don't think they ever were.”

Chris Wallace's credibility stock got a big bump on Friday.

Well said. And, I have been known to get a bit over the top at times also.

I have never attacked Miers' character, but have questioned her judgement based on her support of dems and Gore as late as '88 and her intellectual abilities based on her writings. She seems like a lovely person, but there are many lovely people whom I would not want on the SCOTUS.

With all that said, I believe that both of our hearts are in the right place.

Good work Mark, you made her stop and think ( something the liberals/democrats are unable and not capable to do on their own ) and hopefully she will " SEE THE LIGHT " and know the truth.
My brother was riding in the car with my mom ( FDR Democrat generation ) a few weeks ago, and they were listening to the radio, and out of the blue, she said " why is everyone blaming President Bush for the hurricane Katrina, it's a natural phenomenon "

Was he raised in a cage? His father is a prime example of the media bias.

Liberals raise free-range children. They are allowed to roam unchecked, feeding their minds on all that grows. It's a beautiful, organic childhood that promotes health, beauty, and brilliance. As long as they don't go too close to the edge of the woods. That's where the earth ends and they KNOW they will fall off. ...They've heard rumors of wanderers who never came back... Who roam the darkness, looking for organic, free-range souls...The stories are handed down generation to generation, with much fear and trepidation. And loathing of the unknowns who inhabit that vast forest of possibilites.
