Melanie Morgan

Melanie Morgan, talk-radio host and the voice behind pro-troops organization Move America Forward, begins writing an exclusive column for WorldNetDaily tomorrow.

Morgan is the co-host of the "Lee Rodgers & Melanie Morgan Show" on KSFO 560 AM in San Francisco and chairwoman of the conservative nonprofit group Move America Forward.

As part of her leadership of the pro-troops organization, Morgan helped organize the "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy" campaign, which mobilized the largest counter effort to Cindy Sheehan, the vocal anti-Iraq war activist, in the nation. Morgan led a 20-city pro-troop bus tour from San Francisco to Washington, D.C., as part of the effort.

Besides her work as co-host of one of the top-rated drive-time radio shows in one of the largest radio markets in the nation, Morgan has appeared as a commentator on Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, and is regularly featured on the major broadcast networks' news programs.

As WorldNetDaily reported, last month Morgan briefly lost her radio position over a contract dispute, but thanks to a flood of complaints from listeners to the ABC-owned station, the radio host soon was back on the air.

In 2003, Morgan began discussions with the chairman of the California Republican Party about launching a recall effort against then-Gov. Gray Davis. The recall effort was launched with Morgan teaming up with former Republican legislator Howard Kaloogian to lead this historic Recall Gray Davis Committee. Davis became the first statewide official in California ever to be recalled, and Morgan earned the title "Mother of the Recall."

Morgan also was vocal in opposing MTBE, a gas additive in California, supporting the impeachment of President Clinton and pushing for the confirmation of John Bolton as U.N. ambassador.

Morgan lives in Marin County in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she says she is surrounded by liberals, married to a liberal, has raised one conservative child and is working on grooming her second child into an "upstanding conservative." Her dog, Riley, and cat, Scooter, have thus far remained Decline to State politically.

Be sure to visit WorldNetDaily tomorrow to read Morgan's debut column.

It's funny: radio people like Rush always denounce "amateurs" who think they can do radio because they can write, but it never seems to work the other direction.

One more reason not to bother with WND.

In defense of my good friend, Melanie, she's an accomplished journalist for the past 20-some years... both radio and TV.

I'm sure she spent plenty of time writing.

Here are just a few of the other works by Melanie that have been published:

Melanie on Her Trip to Baghdad

Melanie on DeFunding the UN

Melanie Morgan on the California Recall

Melanie Morgan on MTBE

Melanie Morgan on Harriet Miers (asks her to withdraw)

But yet you bothered enough to read the thread when you saw the title. Interesting.

Maybe you'll just read Mel's column at WND and just 'not tell your friends' - otherwise you enjoy going to read about things you have no purported interest in!

Let's just say I've OD'd on both Melanie and her pal Howard Kaloogian since the recall. They transmogrified the recall campaign into a "support the war" campaign sometime last year and have shamelessly sent their self-promoting emails to the list ever since.

I got one the other day announcing Kaloogian's candidacy for Congress. Imagine that!

Ok, I stand corrected. It just seems that every Sean, Dick, and Harry who comes along on radio suddenly becomes a "writer."

I am to presume then that you don't "support the war."

Since I like the recall AND I also support the war, the fact that they "transmogrified" the recall election into a "support the war" campaign is to me a good thing.

I am also happy Howard Kaloogian is running for Congress. I voted for him and worked for him for his Senate race in which he came a distant 3rd out of 11 or 12 candidates.

I am a big supporter of activist conservatives because so many people talk and opine yet very few take action. It is why I like Congressman Tancredo even though he takes a lot of flak from people.

He might have some off points or off notes from time to time, but he speaks clearly and articulately about obvious issues surrounding our total lack of enforcement of border security, and then he gets off his butt and does all sorts of things to promote the "Secure the Border" movement.

I feel the same way about California State Senator Tom McClintock - a real doer.

Melanie, Howard, Tom, Tom, and others, these people do things whether they are in or out of office because they believe in them. I cannot say that about a lot of other politicians in the GOP or Dem parties.

"older chick!"

LOL! I emailed this thread to Melanie and note that twice she's been referred to as an "older chick" haha. It's a "true" statement, but I just know she's gonna wrinkle her eyes and nose a bit when she reads it.

Well she's not *old* but she's definitely older than me! Probably more like my mother's age, so for me, that qualifies her as an older woman.

I hear ya! Like somebody else said, it's the "Stifler's Mom" thing - she looks really good for a "not so young" woman.
