In the past several months some of us have been fighting our own battle. We are the parents, wives, and loved ones of troops that have made the ultimate sacrifice in this war. Our battle is waged against anti-war groups using the names of our loved ones for their own political agenda. Help has been hard to come by. Another father and myself are seeking help from our Congressman to pass a bill that would give the ultimate authority to the families of the fallen how the military members name can be used. In the meantime, some of my son's friends are asking that a voluntary letter be attached to their will when deployed. This letter will specifically ask that their name be willed to the family. Of course this will be a gesture only at this point. If enough military members do this, it will send a strong message to the American Public, Senate and Congress. The letter has no political agenda, but simply wills their good name to the family. Thanks to those troops who are willing to make this attachment! Our families have enough pain at this time. I am only saddened that we have to go to this extreme to send a message to anti-war groups. Thank you! Debbie, Proud mother of Capt. Derek Argel

Debbie, I agree and support you in this. In my heart and mind these anti war groups have no Rights to use our fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines,and Coasties names for their agendas. I was a U.S. Air Force Airman in the seventies. I will be one forever and I feel that all these younger people that are in all the services now are my extended family. My younger Brothers and Sisters. You and all the other famlies are in my thoughts and prayers. I have been worrying myself to death the last few days about a Marine Lance Corporal that I know that is on his third combat tour in Iraq. He was wounded in his second tour while dragging his buddy undercover that was wounded and his buddy died right after he got him undercover. Our guys are the BEST of the Best. Captain Derek paid the ulimate price for America and I am proud of him to because I told you he is my Brother. God Bless you Debbie and believe this. When I say Captain Derek's name it will be in his and your Honor. God Bless America and all who have protected Her Past , Present and the future to come.
