Dean aims to copy GOP tactics
Washington Times ^ | October 24, 2005 | Audrey Hudson

The nation's top Democratic Party official says his party will win back the White House and control of Congress by copying the political strategy of a man it once vilified, particularly the use of corruption as an issue.

"If we want to win elections, we have got to stop being 'Republican-lite.' We've got to stand up for what we believe in," Howard Dean, Democratic National Committee chairman, said yesterday.

"And if you don't think it works, don't believe me, believe Newt Gingrich," he said, referring to the former House speaker, the Georgia Republican who is credited with authoring the "Contract with America," which gave his party control of Congress in 1994.

"Newt Gingrich took 50 seats in the Congress. You were in the White House at the time," Mr. Dean told ABC's "This Week," whose host, George Stephanopoulos, served as President Clinton's communications director.

"How did [Mr. Gingrich] do it? He set a separate agenda for the Democrats, he used corruption at the top of the list, and he was able to pick up 50 seats."

The first tenet of the Republican contract required that all laws equally apply to Congress and the second called for an independent auditing firm to ferret out waste, fraud and abuse of power and spending in a House that Democrats had held for 40 years.

Howie BABY it has NOTHING to do with tactics. IT does have to do with MESSAGE. The bulk of the people want NOTHING to do with the Democrat party's Neo-socialist plantation style Liberalism. Putting the same pile of bile and hate into a new box will NOT make it anymore palatable to the voters

Howie, have you ever heard of the acronym "SSDD"?
IF you want votes, then try giving people something positive for which to vote instead of the same old crap that you and the other Dems shovel from the stalls.

Oh, Gingrich strategy.

I was hoping he meant the Bush strategy of simply letting the opposition have everything it wants and bashing your own loyalists when they object.

I love this guy. People aren't voting for them now because they are so far left. Howie, however, thinks that far left is merely Republican-lite, so he is determined to move even FARTHER left. Seriously, what world is he living in?

Dean is a dunce.

The Dems were going to take the Congress back when Newt resigned, then when the House impeached Clinton there would be a backlash, then they would get even for the Florida recount, and on and on it goes. Same old crap.
We better have a message next year on spending and immigration or we will get beat up a bit.

The rat party uses its utterly corrupt "judicial activist" prosecutors and judges to falsely indict innocent men like Delay and Rove. This will only infuriate the majority of the American people.

Rove and Delay are tough, honest freedom fighters. They are not afraid of crooked democrat vermin:

As obnoxious and supercilious as Dean is, he has GOT to be Rove in a mask. There is NO way he is not a Republican plant.

Every time you see him or hear him you think of Major Frank Burns on MASH, or Kevin Bacon's character in Animal House or any one of a thousand other insufferable twits in hundreds of movies and sitcoms. He has all the intellect, likability and charm of a three day dead camel.

Thank you God that during our current intermural blood feud, our political foes are lead by such a complete poltroon. He probably is going to end up saving us all from ourselves.

I noticed in the past week, the dimwits have trotted out EX-dnc chairman McAwful on a couple of the talk shows. I didn't watch but a minute, about as much as I could stand. It's funny that the clintonistas have to resort to using old McAwful to spout the early 90s campaign rhetoric of the past, they can't stand that Cowie is master and commander of the sinking dnc ship. McAwful can't even recall the old dnc talking points...LOL.

Karl Rove, YOU are a genius! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Howard, let's pass the following campaign finance law:

No person may contribute money or anything else of value to a candidate running for federal office unless the person is legally registered to vote for said candidate.

The ratmedia cheerleaders for the failing Whigs don't like to talk about these things, but here's a few
of the insurmountable problems they face, as they "retake power".
The end of big labor ATM access. No more union thug troops.

The loss of voter fraud through HAVA.PhotoIDs = Whig defeats.

The loss of Louisiana after the investigation. Won't go away. Won't be good for Louisiana Whigs.

The loss of Iraq as an issue. Things getting better by the month.

The loss of plantation escapees jumping the fence. Blacks starting to listen to GOP and liking what they hear.

The loss of control of the Court. No more force feeding liberalism to America.

The lack of any message. An empty message " I'm not Bush." doesn't work.

Spokesmen and women like Dean, Moore, Sheehan etc chase voters away.

Gay "marriage" support. Oh for eleven last cycle with no upturn in sight.

Anti 2nd amendment positions. Gave us West Virginia, helped us keep Arkansas and Tennessee.

Shallow bench: Paul Hackett for instance. Demoralized Whigs state organizations means fewer new faces.

Continued defections. The ratio of Whig to GOP conversions in the last 10 years must be 10 to 1. This is one of the few areas that they consistently beat us in. :-)

Adoration of Partial Birth Abortion. Most Whigs that you see and hear about are devoted to PBA, something that chases decent people away.

For the FIFTH time in the last eight months, a national poll has reported that Hillary Clinton is too liberal to be president. The numbers in these surveys DON'T BUDGE. She has been judged too liberal by 38, 39,39,40 and now 41% of respondents

There is a term in Chess that fits the evil donkey's position very well.
Zugzwang: “Compulsion to move.” A German term referring to a situation in which a player would like to do nothing (pass), since any move will damage his game.

The Whigs KNOW they can't do nothing/say nothing as issues come up, so they are compelled to comment. But the reality is that there aren't any issues they can say anything on and not be wrong either with their insane base or with real Americans.
