We Have Met the Enemy-And it's the wellspring of Sunni Islamofascism.
Washington Times | Frontpage Magazine ^ | October 25, 2005 | Frank J. Gaffney Jr.

Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee was supposed to focus long-overdue attention on the single most important factor in the future course of the War for the Free World: Which side is Saudi Arabia on? Unfortunately, the press of other business has caused this most timely of hearings to be postponed.

The reason this question deserves urgent attention should be obvious: Since November 2001, there has been a roughly three-fold increase in the price of a barrel of oil, from $18 to as much as $70. As a result, Saudi Arabia — which currently exports about 10 million barrels per day — receives an extra half billion dollars every day from oil-consuming nations.

If even a fraction of that $500 million dollars in found-money – to say nothing of the other resources of the Saudi kingdom – is being put in the service of our Islamofascist enemies, we are likely to face an even more serious problem in the future than we do today.

As today’s Judiciary Committee hearing would surely have demonstrated, it is a safe bet that a significant portion of the Saudis’ petro-windfall will be put in the hands of Islamist totalitarians bent on our destruction. That is not simply because Saudi Arabia has long had ties to Islamofascist terrorists.

Worse yet, the Saudis are themselves the wellspring of Sunni Islamofascism. To paraphrase Pogo, we have met the enemy and it is Saudi Arabia.

it's the wellspring of Sunni Islamofascism.

I thought sure this would be a story about the NYTimes.

Correct me if I am wrong but are the Sunnies the Nazi's of the middle-east?

They ran the rape rooms and prisions, they went into peoples homes and raped their women and killed the parents.

They were the enforcers of Saddam's evil and few of the rest of Iraq Shities/Kurds have had memmbers of their families killed by the Sunnies?

Why then should they or anyone care what the Sunnies think.

I think they're all bad, actually. The Iranians are Shiites, and they're certainly not a great behavior model.

Thats right shiite islam's Iran is so much more civilized.

The koran is still the same. Islam is not only a religion it is also government and who ever runs it in its pure form, shiite or sunni the results are basically the same. Enslavement

This statement says it all.

"Worse yet, the Saudis are themselves the wellspring of Sunni Islamofascism. To paraphrase Pogo, we have met the enemy and it is Saudi Arabia."

The incidents of Saudi Wahhabists acts of terrorism displayed on the map end in 2003.

In Iraq for example large numbers of Arabian nationals have joined up with other Sunni/Wahhabist killers and are deeply involved in acts of mass murder as in the triple truck bombings outside the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad.

Most Terrorists in Iraq Said Saudi

"Researched and written by Dr. Reuven Paz, the paper analyzes the origins of 154 Arab jihadists killed in Iraq in the last six months, whose names have been posted on Islamist websites.

Says Swartz: "The sample does not account for all jihadists in Iraq, but provides a useful and eye-opening profile of them."

Here's what it reports:

# Saudi Arabia accounted for 94 jihadists, or 61 percent of the sample. Of the 94 Saudis, 61 originated in the region of Najd, known as the heart-land of the militant Wahhabis sect;

# Syria accounted for 16 (10 per-cent);

# Iraq itself accounted for only 13 (8 per-cent);

# Kuwait accounted for 11 (7 percent);

# The remainder included small numbers from Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Algeria, Morocco (of which one was a resident in Spain), Yemen, Tunisia, the Palestinian territories (only 1), Dubai, and Sudan. The Sudanese was living in Saudi Arabia before he went to die in Iraq.

According to Schwartz, the names of most of the dead appeared on the websites after the battle of Falluja, and they were all supporters of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and al Qaeda.

The total of 154 included 33 suicide terrorists, of whom 23 were Saudis (with 10 from Najd)."

Hundreds of Saudi Terrorists Caught on Way to Iraq

The vast majority of 'Islamic Centers (mosques) in the U.S., U.K. Canada & elsewhere around the globe are Saudi funded indoctrination safe houses - and the enemy does it all tax free.

Once the Shi'ite Axis of Evil (Iran/Syria/Hizballah-Hamas) are seriously damaged or 'jihad' financing régimes eliminated, the Kingdom of Sa'ud must be 'addressed'.

If global corporate oil interests lobby to protect the Saudi Wahhabi OPEC clan as previously, and the ruling oil baron 'princes of Wahhabism' are not overthrown, we shall continue confronting an international Islamic terrorist enemy through the back door, while bankrolling his global jihad - at the gas pumps through the front door!

I have a lot of repect for Frank Gaffney, but I hear absolutely NO plan for dealing with the situation in this piece.

'Realize they are an enemy' is not a plan of action.
