This year, they're all going as Howard Baker. After a statement delivered by the president of the Kurdistan regional government thanking the United States for its sacrifice in helping to free the people of Iraq, one reporter immediately got into character and shouted, "What did the Vice President know and when did he know it?"
This is your White House press corps. These are their priorities. The only news out of Iraq that they care about today is the 2,000th military death, and what really interests them is shouting out obnoxious questions that they know will go unanswered but that they hope will earn them a mention in Dan Froomkin's column.
Such a moment is even more revealing of how the press is still searching for its glory days of Watergate. The press has consistently ignored legitimate problems with Joseph Wilson's credibility — the problems that Libby and Rove were trying to identify for reporters — because they taint Wilson's status as a truth-telling whistleblower. Without that status, he's no longer the perfect foil to the nefarious White House with its plans to "punish" him by "outing" his wife.
The Kurdish president — the leader of a people Saddam gassed and massacred — thanked the U.S. military today for its sacrifice in helping to liberate his land. "So what?" said our self-proclaimed representatives in the press corps. "What did the Vice President know and when did he know it?"

Ban him from future press breifings. He's an idiot.

Kurds versus turds at the White House today...
"Ban him from future press breifings. He's an idiot."
Bring him on. He's an idiot!
Believable. Notice how quickly the MSNBC talking head latched onto it, as if the press conference wasn't about the Kurds at all.
Morons.
The MSM are traitorous scumbags.
Another leftist @$$wipe dreaming of being the next Woodward and Bernstien.
Speaking of morons, Terry Moran was the quintessential Dan-clone, but instead of disciplining him for his frequent outbursts, ABC made him co-anchor of `Nightline'.
Our media has become quite a disgusting bunch!
We have no press corps, we have the DNC corps.
And have for 40 years.
The MSM simply has no idea how it is perceived. The MSM hasn't been able to cope with the internet, FoxNews and talk radio (the New Media). Thus, the MSM simply pretends the New Media does not exist. To be sure, the MSM has great power that can't be ignored. But, it is not monopoly power and so long as the monopoly is gone, the word is out. "The word" being the truth about Wilson and about the facts surrounding this case, i.e. there is NOTHING wrong with Cheyney telling one of his aides who Wilson's wife was.
Bottom line, the MSM is isolated in its own circle and can't comprehend anyone viewing the MSM other than how it views itself.
An insult to all turds to compare our smelly friends with the media scum.
So, they play a clip of the Kurd leader thanking us & the MSNBC commentary is about one out of place question? Pathetic. No wonder no one watches that station.
Make no mistake. The MSM is gonna try and turn this into Watergate II. The only advantage the GOP has this time is that they control both Houses. The press will pressure the RINO Senators and the Dems (who don't need much pressure) to open a Ervin type investigation. It's already started. After Rove, they are gonna go after Scooter; they will then try and tie both men to their bosses the President and VP. It's coming, get ready.
Exactly, and the MSM thinks that clip portrays them in a positive light. As if the public is just clamoring for another Watergate. As if the public is so anti-war that it could care less about the leader of Kurdistan thanking us and want to see Bush put on the spot more.
I wonder if Bush isn't out to destroy the MSM and this is his way of doing it by just letting the public see who the MSM really is. He knows he enrages them to no end. Thus, all he has to do is sit back and watch their anger overflow into their reporting, and it does.
