AUSTIN, Texas -- The Ku Klux Klan plans to rally in Austin to support the gay marriage amendment set for the Nov. 8 ballot.
The rally planned on the steps of city hall the Saturday before the election will urge voters to favor proposition 2.
However, some who support proposition 2 don't welcome the KKK's assistance.
One such person is Pastor Ryan Rush of Bannockburn Baptist Church.
Rush said that a group that would come in that is characterized as hateful and bigoted is not welcome in this city. He said he doesn't want the Klan as a partner on any cause.
In a letter the Klan sent to the city, the group acknowledged that security will be an issue, noting the violence that erupted at a KKK rally and march to the capitol in Austin in 1983.
Who the hell invited these scumbags and why would they be so interested in this issue?
Maybe there should be an amendment to bar these assholes from entering Texas!
I think they are demonstrating in favor of an amendment "banning" gay marriage.
I think you replied to the wrong person.
Didn't the Klan align with Cindy Sheehan outside of the ranch at Crawford? I know that they supported the government during the Koresh compound assault.
The media is selective in mentioning when and where the Texas Klan appears.
All you need to know about "Rev." Phelps anytime someone brings him up is to tell them he is a Democrat. He had Al Gore's support until 1992 (at least that is the last time they were pictured together).
Phelps continues to run for office as a Democrat.
Don't know if his goal is to tarnish all Christians or not but he does not reflect on me or my politics in any way.
The Klan have a right to express their philosphy even if it is a wrong cause. If they were a criminal organization they could be locked up for their association. When their actions cross the line from word to deed (or plotting) they SHOULD be charged and prosecuted.
The gay mafia don't want to win their battles in the legislature. They want them to be established as Constitutional rights through the courts.
Can someone explain to me how sodomy is a birthright but use/sale of a vibrator is still a crime in Texas? Chuck Rosenthal goes after vibrator sales more than he EVER went after same sex sodomy offenders.
I guess that all that talk of privacy, your body, and what goes on in the bedroom are just a bunch of hooey to get people to accept judicial edicts that abortion and homosexuality are constitutional (nay, God given) rights.
