I was born and raised in the Humboldt Park-Logan Square area(1800N, 3400W)...but when I got married, we moved to my hubbys stomping ground of Rogers Park(7100N,1600W)...

So I have always been a northsider...spent the first 33 yrs of my life in Chicago...lived in North Carolina for 5yrs,(Ft. Bragg), and have been out here in Western Washington(near Ft. Lewis) for 22 yrs...

But no matter where I live, my earliest baseball memories and thoughts are always with my Chicago teams, the White Sox, and the Cubs...

Yee Haw! Astros are going to put up a good fight tonight, and likely win.

Thanks. Indeed, every game has been good.

So will the new Card's stadium be ready for opening day?

When was the last time a team facing a sweep in the WS won Game Four?

The 2005 Astros!

"This is not a team for the ages. This is not the 1927 Yankees or the 1975 Big Red Machine."

Every year, one team must step up to claim the World Series. They may or may not be ready for greatness, but when the time comes, and the hard work is done, the Championship finds them. Your post is very well put...this is a team with all the pistons firing just right!

Man I could go for some Charlie Gitto's, an Ammagetti sub or some Cuneto's anything. I live about 100 miles from St. Louis, but go up there a few times a month.

Best moment at Sportsman's Park was seeing Stan the Man hit a homer over the "porch" his last year (1963). I was also at the "Go Crazy" game against LA.

If Houston gets swept, they can at least say they were in the games. Last year, the Cards made each inning painful. It will seem odd though that two generations long World Series "droughts" were ended two years in a row.

It better be. They've already started dismantling the old one.

They've already built close to half of the new one. But the other half will be where the old one now is.

NA NA NA NA

NA NA NA NA

HEY HEY

GOODBYE

I can't beleive after.......

Dybsinski's baserunning error in 84,
The disappointment in 93,
shut down and stolen from us in '94,
The white flag trade
The 3 and out in '00,
Chasing the Twinkies for 3 years
The Terry Bevington era
The Albert Belle Fiasco
The Big Skirt avoiding contact with the Cleveland catcher like a Cub
The embarrasment of white trash running on the field and attacking players
Disco Demolition Night
Harry Carry lit up like a Christmas tree in the booth (Falstaff)and his side kick Jimmy Piersall a certifable loon
'Kaminski Paark" and Augsburger on tap
The softball uniforms
The South Side Hit Men
Bo Jackson's home run pop fly
Tom Seaver getting 300

I am several hours away from a World Friiking Championship!!!!!!!

Ummm whatever happended to that p***y gay team on the North Side owned by a newspaper and a TV station?

Mr. Reinsdorf. I will show up next year for my 13 game package. KEEP THIS TEAM TOGETHER (although if Marte and the Big Skirt split, I would not shed a tear

If they do they'll on be the 4th team in WS history to do it. If they win tonight and tomorrow night they'd be the first team in WS history to be down 0-3 and force a game six.

Last year Damon led off Game 4 with a home run. It was a great omen.

Backe doesn't have the electric stuff of, say, an Oswalt. But if he keeps the hitters off balance, doesn't walk a lot of guys, mixes things up, has good command and location, he'll be all right.
