MIAMI Oct 26, 2005 — Gov. Jeb Bush took the blame Wednesday for frustrating delays at centers distributing supplies to victims of Hurricane Wilma, saying criticism of the Federal Emergency Management Agency was misdirected.

"Don't blame FEMA. This is our responsibility," Bush said at a news conference in Tallahassee with federal Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, who oversees the agency.

I admire Jeb Bush. And he's right-- these people had plenty of time to prepare. Why didn't they?

What in the hell is wrong with these people? W takes the blame for Katrina, then his brother feels the need to do likewise with Wilma!

Taking blame for things like this is like admitting to murdering Abraham Lincoln. F'n nuts!

And the DUmmies see it as a sign of weakness.

Ok, I'll be the one to say it:

It's BOTH Bush's' fault!

AAAARRRGH!!! The hurricane hit two days ago. These people are already out of supplies and complaining? It makes my head explode!! What a bunch of imbeciles. Media driven trash--they want to get on the news crying about being a victim.

Hmmm....Naples is one of the wealthiest towns in Florida--what about them???

Happened to catch MSNBC segment this afternoon on the usual fault finding mission. Reporter crying that people are miserable...NO ICE!...NO ANYTHING!

Reporter stuck the microphone in one guy's face to get his reaction. The guy said he was very impressed with all the efforts by everyone to assist following a bad storm. Very pleased, and thanked everyone.

Another agenda interview snuffed.

"This is like the Third World," said Claudia Shaw, who spent several hours in a gas line. "We live in a state where we suffer from these storms every year. Where is the planning?"

One has to wonder where Claudia's planning was. I think some people just like to complain, and it never occurs to them that they are the sole source of their own misery.

Isn't it obvious that Jeb intentionally withheld aid so he could step up and take responsibility for said lack of aid, thereby making Gov. Blanco look even more foolish?

Well, isn't it?

It's all those Northeast liberal transplants. They left a nanny state, wanting Florida to be one too.

I'm starting to enjoy the blame game.

It is an act of desperation from a dying theology, and it is backfiring every time now.

be careful though, a cornered animal will resort to physical violence in an attempt to survive.

Isn't that the truth. I haven't heard one impatient voice here in SW Florida. Do the complaints only come from the Dem-controlled cities transplanted from the NE? Or is it the media trying to show that Jeb is no better than Blanco?

PLEASE don't judge all Floridians by these whiny idiots.

Floridians are constantly told that we should expect no help for the first 72 hours. Wilma announced her arrival well in advance giving everyone ample time to add additional supplies to our existing disaster kit. (And no, it doesn't cost that much money.)

Here in Central Florida we were hit with 3 hurricanes last year. With each one my family spent from 3 to 5 days without electricity and we did just fine because we planned ahead and didn't expect help from anyone.

I suspect these people that can't take care of themselves for 72 hours have never actually made the effort to do so. I'm sure it's much easier to wait for the government to show up and bail you out not just in disasters but in every aspect of life.

Oh and as long as I'm being honest I also think that no matter what the government and charities do for these people it won't be enough. I'm sure FEMA and the Red Cross are already getting questions from those who want to know where their $2,000 debit cards are.

Not taking blame....but responsibility. There is a difference. It's the mark of a true leader.

A good leader shields his subordinates when things don't go as well as they should. A good leader fixes the problem, and ensures that things quickly improve. Anticipating problems is best, and having a plan to put into action even better.

Let others assign blame...leaders make things happen and focus on the mission. You will notice...those who spend time blaming...are doing NOTHING to help the situation.

Oh, SW Florida was hit by a hurricane?

You'd never know it with the MSM coverage since yesterday. Everything focused on the helpless and hapless big city dwellers from liberal land.
