The more MSM/actors/ artist/ does this, the more they alienate their audience, and the more they become irreverent.
I think that most Americans today don't care about what happened during Vietnam.
I am not talking about the vets who served and died in Vietnam ( Americans should always honor and remember our vets ) but, the liberal's version of Vietnam as seem through the eyes of the MSM, war protesters, liberalism , democrats, hippie dippys.
As in this article, the reason that the movie Forst Gump was a hit and a success was, Main Stream American wants to forget about the liberal 60s - 70s, the war protests, hippie dippies.
Forst Gump ( as this article mentioned ) was a repudiation of that culture, and the anti Americaism, and rebellion of the 60s-70s.
The public " Main Stream America " does not care about Liberal/MSM/Democrats values anymore.
The " MAIN STREAM of AMERICA " is getting very weary and tired of the likes of Linda Rondstadt/Perky Katie of N.B.C. /Dan Rather/ Michael Moores telling them how wrong they ( the public, Conservatives/Republicans/Patriotically Americans ) are , instead of doing some self reflection in how WRONG they ( Liberals/MSM/Democrats/Liberal Hollywood ) is.
