In Case You Missed It: MSNBC's Chris Matthews On "Disgusting" Democrat Attacks On Judge Alito
Republican National Committee ^

MSNBC's Chris Matthews: "[I]'m Sitting Here Holding In My Hands, A Pretty Disgusting Document, This Is Put Out Not For Attribution. But It Comes From The Democrats, They're Circulating It. I Can Say That." (MSNBC's "MSNBC Live," 10/31/05)
- Matthews: "[T]hen Their Complaint Sheet Against Judge Alito's Nomination. The First Thing They Nail About This Italian American Is He Failed To Win A Mob Conviction In A Trial 20 Years Ago, Or Something Way Back In '88." (MSNBC's "MSNBC Live," 10/31/05)
- Matthews: "In Other Words, They Nail Him On Not Putting Some Italian Mobsters In Jail From The [Lucchese] Family. Why Would They Bring Up This Ethnically Charged Issue As The First Item They Raise Against Judge Alito?" (MSNBC's "MSNBC Live," 10/31/05)
- Matthews: "This Is Either A Very Bad Coincidence Or Very Bad Politics. Either Way Its Gonna Hurt Them. This Document: Not Abortion Rights, Not Civil Rights But That He Failed To Nail Some Mobsters In 1988. This Is The Top Of Their List Of What They've Got Against This Guy. Amazingly Bad Politics." (MSNBC's "MSNBC Live," 10/31/05)
Matthews: "[The Democrats Are] Trying Not To Put A Signature On It, But I Just Did." (MSNBC's "MSNBC Live," 10/31/05)

Lo$er Chris Matthews redeeming his disgraceful performance on many issues lately?
Wait for more ways the Dems will destroy themselves. This is just the beginning.

Mathews is right that this is bad politics for the Dems. Their hit-piece document against Alito is going to strike many as being anti-Italian...in other words...racist.

BTW - What was Alito doing in 1988? As Prosecutor, Defense Attorney or Judge, there is a little thing we call a "jury of our peers" that gets to weigh in on putting people away.

why do this? the Dems have legitimate issues to go after Alito on (not that we would agree with them, but they are legitimate issues for debate nonetheless).
what they want to do here is play into the sheeple's stereotype from being pumped with the Sopranos and the Godfather for years. Remember the taped phone call between Clinton and Flowers regarding Mario Cuomo.
To: oceanview
The RATS are making wild connections. On DU they say he supports lesbian pedophilia rape because he didn't dissent on a case involving a 10 year old girl getting strip searched by a female officer on a drug bust.

Give Chrissy a little credit. He's the same liberal swine as ever. All he says is that they should have attacked Alito for threatening their precious right to an abortion, instead of starting out with something politically weak and ineffectual. He's complaining that they did an inefficient job of sliming him. If he had been running the DNC they would have done better.
