Rioting In French Suburbs 'Well Organized'
Drudge Report ^ | 11/3/05 | Drudge

Posted on 11/03/2005 12:21:25 PM PST by areafiftyone

French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said Thursday that the riots in several Paris suburbs over the previous night were "not spontaneous" but rather "well organized."

"What we saw in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis overnight was not spontaneous, it was perfectly organized. We are looking into by whom and how," Sarkozy told French news channel i-tele.

The interior minister also said the government would not allow "troublemakers, a bunch of hoodlums, think they can do whatever they want" in the country.

A force of 1,000 police were assigned late Thursday to Seine-Saint-Denis, following the previous night of violence which affected about half of the 40 towns in the department, mostly communities of immigrants from Africa, officials said.

Apples and oranges my friend, apples and oranges. Bombastic statements aside, the French have some of the most stringent anti-terror laws on the books. They make the Patriot act look like a walk in the park. All I am saying is don't underestimate a country with it's back to the wall.

The rioting in France has probably nothing to do with Islam. From what I've heard from Frenchmen, it's drug leaders and other criminals defending their turf against the police. The French goverment recently increased policing of these suburs angrying the criminal class who had gotten used to ruling over these places.

The french have lotsa schadenfreude coming as they reap the rewards for their treachery.

If you're looking for some real hot chili's, try habanero's. :)

Like everyplace...there are good Frenchmen and Women who don't deserve what's happening in France right now, and for them I feel bad.

But for all the rest, I'm  lol'ing over these riots.  I'm truly enjoying this.

Gee, guess I missed where they were identified as Christians.... Of course they are muslim, North Africa is full of muslims, what the hell are you talking about?

So some cop busted up a crack head and these people went off over it? Bull$h!t. This is an orchastrated act, as was LA to a great degree. They are either going for more autonomy, knowing the french will bend over, or they are going for it all, knowing the french don't have the balls to resist. LA was lashing out against the man, these basterds are better organized.

Do you have references to France "unleashing the hounds"?

Not unless you count their attack on Greenpeace...

"France is a powerful country, and the French are highly capable. All they need is a green light to eliminate the problem and it shall be done vigorously."

Either you forgot the sarcasm notice or you'e been smoking some real good crack.

Yes, but that is ancient history, WWI kicked these guys butts. They bent over to the Germans, they ran from their colonies after they were liberated. These people don't have the balls to defend themselves.

You're disgusting and a disgrace to the USA.

I'm sure all those arabs around the world said "America, you deserve it" after 9/11 is ok with you?

Granted, I have not actually been to France for many years. But when I was there I found the French to be extremely proud, and they still had that peculiar look one gets from peering down gunsights just before firing into the woods 500 yards away. Wander in the French countryside, stay overnight in a French village. You know the people are very restained but have the capability of taking care of business. In Paris, at night, you meet people, one after another, who would be at home with a rifle and a knife in the forest at night. Make no mistake; the French are formidable.
