Female teacher jailed for sex with teen

A FEMALE teacher who had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student has been sentenced to five years jail.

Cindy Leanne Howell, who pleaded guilty, sobbed loudly in the Victorian County Court after she received the jail sentence with a minimum term of two-and-a-half years.

The 36-year-old mother-of-four was employed at a high school on the Mornington Peninsula helping the student with a reading difficulty.

She started an eight-month sexual relationship with the teenager last year after he began dating her daughter.
