Brokeback Mountain: Oscar Winner or Gay Cowboys Eating Pudding? (South Park Republicans)

Independent film Brokeback Mountain is being touted as an Oscar favorite by a source to Matt Drudge. NY Daily News critic Jack Mathews predicts the gay cowboy movie, which takes place in Wyoming, may be "too much for red-state audiences, but it gives the liberal-leaning Academy a great chance to stick its thumb in conservatives' eyes," reports Drudge.

That's surely possible.

But 'Brokeback Mountain,' as an Indy film, was pegged by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone with their foul mouthed little South Park Republican long ago.

The film comes with nudity and explicit gay sex scenes between two cowboys.

But only as much as is necessary for the story, right?

So, it's a porno film, right? Perfect. Almost everyone in Hollywood seems to be a whore of some sort so it's their life story. They can probably just give it the Oscar by universal acclamation of the Academy, no need to count the votes Price Waterhouse.

There's a South Park episode where the South Park municipal government holds a film festival to try and rival the Sundance Film Festival.

South park is overrun with Hollywood types. One of the South Park kids is asked if he wants to go watch some independent movies and he says no, that all those movies are "about gay cowboys eating pudding."

I predict that it will be a hit with the critics, who will laud its bravery and clarity, etc.

However, the moviegoers will stay away in droves.

I might watch it when it comes to pay per view, but then again, I might not.

I did, however, trudge out to the theater this weekend to see Doom, of all things. Fun shoot 'em up in outerspace, similar to Aliens. Not high art, but neither is this gay cowboy film...

The preview for this trash came on at the movie theater we were at the other day. The preview itself is enough gay propaganda to make you sick. It showed two grown men holding each other, rubbing all over each other, and laying on the ground together...and the theater was full of kids.

The whole thing was sickening.
