The question becomes, from my perspective, what do we do about it?

It should be a felony for a lawyer to be a lawmaker.

This is not about needing money from this. This needs to pass congress in order to change the ban Carter imposed.

Carter lied back then to Ted Stevens saying if you wanted it changed it would be changed.

Don't forget that the Republican party never wastes and opportunity to waste an opportunity.

What is the solution to those 25 RINO congressmen? If the leadership threaten them and told them that they will support another Republican against them in the primaries will they cave? Suppose they tell the leadership "F*** You", you cannot defeat us in the primaries then what can the leadership do?

The voter only has the choices on the ballot. How is it the voter's fault?

Not true, write-ins do win elections. Voters own property, businesses, homes, and they own the government the last time I looked it up.

We get the government we deserve.  If you don't have enough adequate candidates, work harder.

Yes. We lost our government when lawyers removed it.

Wait... the squishy Senate passes it and the House caves? WHAT THE HELL?

Must ... adjust ... tinfoil. I'm having thoughts of some sort of loose coordination by the GOP (House, Senate, Executive working in harmony), to see to it that conservatives are screwed, but good. There is plenty of passive aggressive anger left over from the Miers fiasco.

I can't help recalling the night JFK won that election over Goldwater.... My brother called, almost weeping about those lousy democrats and how they'd turn our country into a socialistic dump.

Today JFK looks like a rank amateur compared to many of the RINOs we have in Washington. Rank Amateur!

I don't know about you, but I'm sharpening my pitchfork....

Those 25 RINOS have chosen the "environmental benefit" of a wasteland over national security.

Not having the oil will reduce greenhouse gas emissions ;-)

The oil that we don't buy, China will and will burn far less efficiently than we would.

With the vise grip these two parties have on this nation and it's vanishing Constitution, about all we can do is grab a front row seat and watch our nation melt down.

Third parties can't work.

Those who should realize what is happening are busy taking cheerleading classes.

A few folks who do understand are marginalized by the majority without a clue.

And if all this wasn't bad enough, our leaders are only a few years away from setting it up so people from other nations will make the rules that govern us.

In 2000, we came off a very bad eight years. As bad as Clinton was, we could have righted the ship of state. Instead the RP sold us out lock stock and barrel.

As we stood cheering for the one ring at the circus, which was worthwhile (Our men in Iraq), the other rings were filled with some acts I never thought I'd see materialize in this nation.

We must fight any challenge to open seas.

We must fight any move at all that subjegates the U.S. to any foreign body.

We must get out of the U.N., and tell our friends if they want our support, they'll do the same.

We must investigate the subversion that is going on in our nation.

If our leaders don't pull their heads out, and exhibit some backbone on the domestic and global stage, we an put a fork in the U.S. It's done.

Frankly, I think it's too late. There don't seem to be ten people in Washington, D.C. who have any idea what I might be talking about here.
