The voter only has the choices on the ballot. How is it the voter's fault?

Your kidding. Talk about grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory. When will the republicans on congress get the memo that if you have a majority of seats you get to run things? This is discouraging.

True, however, if they hold those districts by a slight margin and the GOP fortunes turn unfavorable RINO's lose seats as well in favor of real Liberal Democrats. Snowe and Collins may be safe. Chafee is not. It's possible he'll experience this effect next year.

The madness is that the GOP works to re-elect Chafee at their own detriment. That is money that could go to races in W.V., the Dakota's, etc...Conservative leaning states. Wins in those states are doable, and better favor keeping the fortunes of the GOP afloat while retaining their Majority in the Senate.

Exactly right. I was never so discouraged 1992-2000 as I am now, 2005.

What is the point of all of our hard work during the election cycles?

I got a call from the RNC the other day wanting a 'large' contribution. I more or less told him , sure, just as soon as republicans grow a set, realize they are the majority party and stop quivering like cowards afraid of their own shadows.

I wanted to write an email to Mehlman that day and didn't. Tomorrow he gets one for sure along with those who nixed this Arctic drilling proposal.

Oh, there is an argument to be made we can start putting up our own candidates, and we are, but that's 25 or so years away from being a potent force in politics. In the majority of races we're stuck with the choice the GOP provides.

If the RINO's screw the GOP, and by so doing, us, it is the GOP's fault. They picked them. They don't enforce discipline. This is the result.

Oh please - How do you expect hard core GOP'ers to be elected in most Blue States? - The Republicans we have in the Northeast...are (surprise, surprise) RHINO' types - Because the base can't get hardcore GOP'ers elected in those States -

Just as GWB couldn't carry NJ, IL, WI, VT, MA, MD, DE, CA, OR, WA, etc, etc - How do you expect the GOP to get other solid GOP candidates elected in the Senate in those States when someone as popular as GWB (is with our base) couldn't get enough to carry those states!

Therefore we have to actually put up Republicans in those States that have a chance at winning (and in turn those republicans that do win from those states conference with the GOP in both Chambers so we have control of those chambers to a large extent).

That means living with reality - Where one has to make choices that are actually available to them - Not have pie in the sky "wishes".

Therefore in a number of States we will either go with a RHINO type candidate who can possibly win...or go with someone more to the right who has no shot.

The Republican'ts have gotten so bizzare in their Marxism it is like a caricature of the RATs--but it IS the Republicans.

One cannot even be outraged this is so bizzare. Like you said, it is like the twilight zone.

It used to be once a onth, some liberal crap came out of the GOP. Then once a week. Now, every day we have new Marxism out of the Republican'ts.

................Correction, Now, two or three daily Marxist incidents out of the Republican'ts every day. Did you hear Arlen Sphincter and some other RINOs are blocking breaking up the 9th Circus Court?

The GOP has merged with the RATs.

Ladies and gentlemen ... After reading other threads here at FP it has become very clear that it is time these politicians for life, of all parties, are kicked out on their big fat behinds. They are RIDICULOUS! None of them deserve our support but do deserve to leave D.C., return home (if their fellow hometowners will have them) and never be involved in politics again. The American people have been betrayed! Period! The politicians are so far out of touch with the common, hard-working American that they don't know or do they care what our interests, needs, concerns and hopes are. OUT you slimy turds!

So was I. Then the House wimps out yet again. It's both maddening and demoralizing.
