In announcing the introduction of legislation aimed at preventing illegal aliens fromn getting driver's licenses yesterday, a North Carolina Republiacn Republican member of the House of Representatives casually dropped a bombshell that went over the heads of most of the media covering the event - that three members of al-Qaida were recently arrested trying to enter the U.S....

"Our main concern is: Who's in our state? This is a critical issue today. They just arrested, down on the border, a couple of weeks ago, three al-Qaida members who came across from Mexico into the United States."

We need to do more than keep illegals from getting drivers licenses, although this is a worthy goal.

We need to seal off the border completely, otherwise some al-Qaida ops may one day get through.

I'm not at all surprised that this "went over the heads of most of the media covering the event"

The LSM doesn't want strong border protection, from what I have seen, so they most likley wont report on it.

Neither party is interested in stopping the invasion. Why should they care? Their lives won't be affected by the overwhelmed schools, hospitals, jails, etc. They don't care that our country is being transformed and gradually destroyed by these invaders. But if terrorists strike us from the southern border, they can kiss their political careers good-bye. Throw all of the bums out!

Notes from the Pentagon

Al Qaeda South
U.S. intelligence agencies have identified a group of Middle Eastern men in South America who are suspected of having ties to Islamic terrorists associated with Osama bin Laden.

The group is said to be part of the network of al Qaeda terrorists believed to be operating in about 60 nations around the world.

One U.S. intelligence official said there are indications that al Qaeda is working in Latin America in preparation for a future terrorist attack. Little is known about al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorist activities in the region.

One of the men under suspicion in Brazil is Egyptian national Mohammed Ali Soliman, who was arrested in April. The Egyptian government believes Mr. Soliman is an al Qaeda member and has asked for his extradition to Egypt.

A second terror suspect is El Said Hassan Ali Mohammed Mokhles, who was arrested in Paraguay.

U.S. intelligence officials said both men are linked to Egyptian members of al Qaeda and were involved in the 1997 terrorist attack on tourists in Luxor, Egypt.

The men are also suspected of having links to terrorist attacks in Argentina against the Israeli Embassy in 1992 and a Jewish center in Buenos Aires in 1994.

U.S. intelligence agencies have identified at least 22 Islamic terrorists who are believed to be operating in the so-called tri-border area of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

Information about the activities of al Qaeda in South America was obtained by U.S. intelligence following operations in Afghanistan.(snip)

Big shocker there.
I remember the Bosnia Muslim that appeared on Sixty Minutes in order to
give America a heart attack about exportation of .50 cal guns from the USA.

IIRC, his entry into the USA was accomplished by paying some dude
$3000 in Mexico and riding in the trunk of a car.

Yep, he's still here, financially succesful as a contractor in NYC.
(He was happy to report his prolific exportation of guns to Muslims
back home...and to help shut the tap once he'd "gotten his")

Given the ratio of entrants to catches, there's probably half a million already came through.

But that's no reason not to lock the door now.
We don't need a million.

The Marxists (both foreign and domestic) are using al Qaida to achieve their ends and vice versa..

The borders must remain open that we may end up awash in narco terrorists, communists, and Muslims...

That we may be coerced into given up freedom for peace and safety...

Has American ever been embroiled in a world war without securing it's borders before? Has any country?

imo

Sadly other terrorist affiliated people are ignored if they aren't tied to al Qaeda. A few moths back a Hamas member was charged with illegally entering the country through Mexico. He bought a Mexican Passport in either Syria or Lebanon and snuck across the border.

Did she let slip some classified information? Either way, at this point it shouldn't be swept under the carpet.

I used to think that, but after some close examination I'm starting to think that it's not bias in many cases, but pure laziness or stupidity. I've noticed that in a lot of stories, the 'reporter' has simply acted as a stenographer, putting down what A says and then what B says, evidently without asking a single penetrating question to challenge them to support their statements, or recognizing that what they're saying doesn't jibe with other known facts. Maybe journalism school these days is just classes on how to take notes and write the story from them.

We're up to 358 posts on this topic, posted yesterday here:

Many of the posts are taking us to the woodshed over believing terrorists could possibly be stupid enough to walk into the US from Mexico.

Will they never learn?
