A Demoralized FreeRepublic. What is the Solution? (Vanity)

The tone on FR is very demoralized. Liberals and their media unfortunately have succeeded in demoralizing a large number of freepers. From their constant savage attacks on the President and the Republican Party with lies and distortions, to their biased polls, to blaming the President for everything under the sun, many freepers are feeling very demoralized. They are further demoralized because President Bush is not fighting back, because the RINOS in Congress are screwing thing up for the President agenda. Add to that a huge numbers of trolls who infiltrated FR in 2004 and 2005 to divide and demoralize by creating doom and gloom, and piling on the President and the GOP.

So what are the solutions for the demoralization problem?

(1) Stop the knee jerk reaction every time the liberal media write an article telling us that President Bush and the GOP are finished. Stop taking every biased poll as the end of all. No doubt that the President approval is down but no doubt that the polls are so biased to take 6 or 7 points more from his approval numbers. Never before we have had so many polls coming in an off election year and the reason for this is very simple. The media is doing all these biased polls to demoralize the Republican base and it is succeeding to “some” degree as we see from the knee jerk reaction of many freepers. The media is taking any event that is happening and distort it with the most negative spin to demoralize us. Rather than falling for the media lies, distortions and very negative spin we must take anything they write or say turn it around on them and destroy all their lies and spin.

(2) Ask the White House to fight back the lies and distortions of liberal and their media whores. How do we do this? Demand replacing Scott Maclelan? Besides new junkies like us how many people listen to Scott Maclelan? Ask the President to hold a press conference every week to expose the lies liberals and their media? Do you want the President to spend his time fighting every lie and distortion made by liberals and their media? How can we guarantee that the media will cover what the President is saying or what any of his spoke people are saying? Can they just ignore what is he saying?

(3) Put pressure on the RINOS to stop screwing the President agenda. How do we do this? Ask the White to twist their arms? What if the RINOS say to the White House “Screw you”? Ask the GOP leadership in Congress to twist their arms? What if the RINOS also tell them “Screw you”?

(4) Purge the trolls who infiltrated FR in large numbers in 2004 and 2005. These trolls are not necessarily someone who spread Dummy crap on FR. They put on a phony conservative mask and bash the President and the GOP on every occasion. Their main goal is to divide and demoralize. Their job is to spread doom and gloom. Purging these guys can stop a lot of the infighting and the demoralization that is going on. We need to report these trolls to the mods and do not let them get away with this.

They claim to be conservative but spend most of their energy attacking the conservatives in office.

What conservatives in office? I haven't seen any in this administration, starting at the top.

I am not demoralized. I am confident that our leadership has something up its collective sleeve and will expose it at just the right time!

I don't pay any attention to what the MSM says. Nobody with any sense does. I only pay attention to what the Republican party DOES (not says.) Ping me if they ever get that spinal transplant that all of us have been wishing for every Christmas or if the "New Tone" is finally declared what it really is - appeasement, and responsible for a lot of the disaster that the Republicans find themselves mired in.

I'm not demoralized. Disappointed, but not demoralized. Did the democrats score some points on Tuesday? Sure, but does that mean it's the end of the world? Not by a long shot. How is it we go from talking about the democrats imploding a few months ago, to the republicans imploding now? It's comical the way the "common logic" swings so dramatically one day to the next. Everyone needs to just calm down. Overall, conservatives have kicked tail recently. By the time "W's" time is up, we will have had the WH for 20 of the past 28 years. We've had BOTH HoC fov over a decade. The GOP has gained ground in most of the states where it REALLY matters - in the South and West - where the nation is growing, not dying off like it is in liberal NE.

Think of it as a football game. We've been scoring TD after TD. Now the other team kicks a FG. Big DEAL! We simply learn from our mistakes and move on. We are still winning the game, and need to act like it.

I wish McClellan would be replaced too. When I hear him fumbling his way through yet another press conference, he reminds me of George on the old Seinfeld show.

Does anyone remember what Rush espoused a few years ago? He explained that by stepping up giving to every liberal cause, he is making the Democrats lose power. Does anyone remember the stories about Republicans starving children because of school lunches? How about Repubs wanting to kill old people?

You don't hear much of that now. In fact, you have a neutered Demoncrat party. They don't have anythign to attack the Republicans on, except personal attacks taking out one at a time. And, when they do attack a Repub, the obvious response has been, well you guys do it, too, which has been very effective at shutting them up.

How else is the President to respond to New Orleans? "You idots should not be living 12 feet below sea level." Yeah, like that would go over well.

We need to make the Dems history, and the best time to attack them is after we take out their big weapons.

You left off the most important one..... go on the attack.

We should be encouraging the mass of FReepers to engage, to attack the media with letters and faxes. We should assult the Rat senate with calls and faxes and visits.

We can not sit on our butts and expect any thing positive to hapen.

Rockefeller, Reed, Durbin et al must be attacked and brought to their knees.

All it takes is a little effort.

I will Criticize both the President AND the GOP as my God Given right to do so.

Especially when the President and the GOP begin to act like moderate to left liberals.

When they are Conservative, they have my support. When they are not, they have my criticism.

The same ones who constantly predicted a Kerry sweep in 2004.

Wrong.

The ones who have always and will always hate President Bush and the GOP simply because they do not worship Pat Buchanan.

The rest are trolls or the eternally pessimistic who see doom and gloom everywhere.

Wrong.

Would you like to try again? Or would you rather keep trying to discredit people because they aren't wearing a happy face at the moment for good cause.

So... your solution is a FreeRepublic 'pogrom' on newbies combined with a 'self-diciplined', censorship on negative posts & replies.

Sounds good to me Adolf.

What is the Solution?

Start here........

Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment: "Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican."

Liberals and their media unfortunately have succeeded in demoralizing a large number of freepers.

Wrong. I've never given a damn about what the media and polls say. If so, I would have joined the vast number freaking out over the faux exit polls last year. I did not.

They are further demoralized because President Bush is not fighting back, because the RINOS in Congress are screwing thing up for the President agenda.

Bingo.

The emotional state of the base is directly reflective of the actions of the President and the Republicans.

This excuse that we don't control the MSM so we cannot control the message is a cop out. We didn't control the MSM in 2000 and we got the President in despite Dems attempts to steal the W.H. We didn't control the MSM in 2002 and we made gains. We didn't control the MSM in 2004 and we re-elected this President and made gains. What is the difference now? The difference is that we had some important conservative gains and we had a President fighting back. He's not fighting back now, and Congress is betraying us. ANWR latest example.

Fix is simple. Pass ANWR, Pass the tax cuts. Pass the spending cuts, miniscule as they are. Stop kissing McCain's behind and supporting terrorists' rights. Start defending this war because it is justifiable. Confirm Alito. Fire Scott. It's pretty simple really, but as another poster stated, the GOP is starting to mimic France in its behavior.
