Republican Main Street Partnership (George Soros is funding the Moderates)

Update 1145am EST. Many of you are asking for the list of the anti-drilling Republicans. The group who succeeded in pressuring the GOP to cave in calls itself the "Republican Main Street Partnership." They're holding a press conference at 130pm EST in Washington, D.C. to bray about their "victory." Here's some more info:

Main Street Leaders who helped broker the deal to eliminate ANWR from budget cuts:

Rep. Charlie Bass (R-NH), Rep. Mark Kirk (R-IL), Rep. Jim Walsh (R-NY), Rep. Joe Schwarz (R-MI), RMSP Executive Director Sarah Chamberlain Resnic

Here's the complete list of "Main Street" members in Congress.

1pm EST. Guess who is funding the "Main Street" moderates? George Soros and friends. (Hat tip: David Martosko)

ONE OF THE MAIN STREET'S GOALS....

Stem-cell Research

One of the top legislative priorities for the Republican Main Street Partnership in the 109th Congress is stem-cell research. Rep. Mike Castle, President of RMSP has introduced legislation (H.R. 810) that would expand the current federal embryonic stem-cell policy by funding research on new stem-cell lines that have been ethically derived-- from discarded embryos created through the in-vitro fertilization (IVF) process- through informed consent of the donors, and without financial inducement.

RMSP wants to work with the President to expand the policy in an ethical and moral manner that unleashes the potential of embryonic stem-cell research. We believe it can be done, and we believe it should be done for the millions of Americans suffering nationwide.

Republican Main Street Partnership is looking for personal stories of individuals or families that might benefit from increased embryonic stem-cell research. If you are willing to share your thoughts with us, please email us at stemcellstories@rmsp.org

Why are embryonic stem cells important?

Media Republicans. TM. Like McNuts, their "moderation" and "selflessness" will be favorably contrasted with the "extremism" and "small mindedness" of the conservatives.

Damn straight. All this "big tent" bullcrap does is sell out our platform, piece-by-piece, to the anti-American Left.

And I'm sick & tired of the idiot RINO blather that we must support Liberal Republicans to defeat Leftist Democrats. To hell with that. I'm not about to let this party turn into the GOP wing of the Democrat Gulag.

Dick Cheney and Condi Rice for starters.

See ya! No Presidential aspirations for either of you!

What kills me is if these are the "main-stream" Republicans, what the hell is President Bush? And why aren't they on his side?

No, these are Democrats with an R behind their name so they can win - nothing more.

I can't wait to call Norm Coleman's office........the guy is always a sucker for envronmental wackos....but he's been firmly pro life.

He's also done a great job in investigating the OIL FOR FOOD sub committee but.......why would you enter into any alliance with Soros?

THis is all too sick.......

Now you can see another reason I am happy to no longer be living in Delaware.

He is the heir apparent for whenever Biden decides to not run again. He and Crapper, oops I mean Carper, actually did nothing more than switch seats when Castle was termed out after 2 terms as Governor.

BTW - your choice of the word "fey" is interesting........the appropriate word rhmes with it, but begins with "g."

I just called the PR guy who's listed on the site and he said that Soros contributed that 50,000 2 years ago and they returned it............I told him that maybe all the other big contributors should be looked into because most likely they contribute alot of money to the leftists.....perhaps if anyone has time, they could do that.

I said, maybe he should add a note on their web page that they returned Soros ' contribution........he said they had that info up before and i said it might be a good idea to do it again.........lol

According to this, http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail.php?st=NY&last=Soros&first=George&city=&zip=&xst=&next=25, it appears that the Soros money was returned. And that the last Republican he gave money to was John McCain in the 2000 primaries. Other than that, all Democrats and 527's

That's good. I'm glad Mike Rogers isn't on that list. Joe Schwarz has a primary in 06 against Tim Walberg. Upton and Ehlers is safe however for some reason. Dave Camp's on the list, but is actually strongly conservative.

It's rare, but there are at least two in 06. Schwarz is a first termed who won with 28% of the vote in the first primary race in 04. He's PO'ed gunowners and pro-lifers, as well as club for growth, so this one was seen a mile away. Tim Walberg (finished 3rd) is taking a second shot at Schwarz.

The other primary is in my district. Mike Rogers who is no RINO is being primaried by Patrick Flynn. Mike's good people, and I'll be voting for him again.

Even the Dem's in Delaware can't field a candidate to dump him. He never gets anything but token opposition.

Unfortunately that is the history of nearly all Delaware politics. Biden and Carper are anomolies, upstarts defeating much loved and well respected incumbents.
