Bush Escalates Bitter Iraq War Debate (How's that for an evenhanded title?)

ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska - President Bush escalated the bitter debate over the Iraq war on Monday, hurling back at Democratic critics the worries they once expressed that Saddam Hussein was a grave threat to the world. "They spoke the truth then and they're speaking politics now," Bush charged. Bush went on the attack after Democrats accused the president of manipulating and withholding some pre-war intelligence and misleading Americans about the rationale for war.

Bush Escalates Bitter Iraq War Debate

Please do more... While you're on it, say a little word about the "competence" of CIA, and keep repeating what some Dems had to say up to 2003...

I can't even read other websites now...my blood is boiling.
Should know better than to see what the Lamestream is up to though...they pretend polls are news stories and take a new one everyday.
I thought they might have Bush's address to the Dems tonight but they'll just gloss right over that to tell us about the approval rating of someone who never has to run again.
They are all traitors...I love you FReepers. Thank God I found this site!

The MSM wing of the 'Rat Party likes the New Tone and is ticked that Bush seems to be abandoning it. They've had a 5-year license to attack Bush without worrying about defending their attacks. Why should they have to justify themselves now?

How well I know that feeling. I rarely watch TV either because there's no "news" there, just propaganda and that goes for a lot of Foxnews too. Oh yeah, they're always touting the "fair and balanced" silliness but notice how the libs tend to always be allowed plenty of face time and L-O-N-G responses, nah, they can have it. Freerepublic is my main source.

"They spoke the truth then and they're speaking politics now,"

Finally Rove is telling him to take the gloves off. Kudos to the staffer who wrote that line.

who's got the AP byline on that drivel?

Bush takes 12 rounds of face punches and the Dems are "commenting" on Iraq. Bush throws one body jab and he's "escalating".

I like this headline:

They sure do love to pound those drums. Including that little phrase in this AP piece, regardless of its absurdity, is another beat that hurts the President and the war effort, and so therefore they are duty-bound to print it.

I wish I knew. I've done some research in the past and found that, as far as receiving comments about particular articles, the major news services don't make themselves nearly as accessible as they do to 2 ugly lefty protesters chaining themselves to a KFC in Cincinnatti at 2:00 O'Clock in the morning.

New Tone? You mean the one where W always stood for Wimpy (in the politics of Washington, I mean)? Yeah. The MSM would like that. Kick butt W!!

We live in a dangerous age where if the truth hurts the political agenda of the Left Media, they misrepresent and attack you.

For the good of the country AP needs to be destroyed. They are a wolf in sheep's clothing, they do not represent nor serve in good faith the American people.

AP is the democrats attack dog, how much more proof do people need?

Why do the libs even bother arguing that they are not trying to undermine the war effort? Could it be any more obvious what is going on? Turning domestic opinion on Vietnam was their moment of the century -- their defining event of the modern era. It is their party's prime objective to make this come true in Iraq, perhaps their sole motive at this time.

All this crap about supporting the troops....give me a break...their 'support' is only in their imagination. In any honest, real terms they would like nothing better than to undermine their efforts and ruin their cause in Iraq and in general. That they fervently deny their primary objective is a tacit admission that their position is anti-American and unacceptable.

These slimy worms don't have the cojones to even make their case with intellectual honesty.

The left never ceases to amuse. First, W is stupid and a dolt according to their script. Now, the same stupid dolt deceived and misled the leftists. That seems to say little for the left but they have never been bothered by accuracy.

In the lib world, libs are allowed to hurl whatever epithets and derogatory statements at their enemies, which is us conservatives, and we are supposed to just sit back and take it. I'm sure all the lefties in Big Media were "left" gasping for air when Bush had the temerity to respond to their hysterical, accusatory, semi-treasonous lies.
"Why, how dare Bush answer his critics!" they exclaim to themselves, "when we shout and scream (and tell lies) at people, they are not supposed to respond", they bluster in horror.

The Dem's base is becoming more and more like the juvenile cretins in Seattle who recently threw objects at and forced out a military recruiter at a local school. Unbelievable in America. I'm coming more and more to the conclusion that a separate country for libs might not be a bad idea.
