This is an excerpt from a speech VP Cheney is giving tonight to a Malcolm Wallop group. He's going after the war critics but good.

Thanks. I took this from the NRL blog and it was part of a reply to a comment by another blogger, hence the title. I hope it's OK as posted.

I don't know but I sure would like to see it. I wonder if C-SPAN will do it? I doubt FOX will cut their prime time line up since we might miss out on another episode of the Aruba story.

The President and I cannot prevent certain politicians from losing their memory, or their backbone – but we're not going to sit by and let them rewrite history.

Well said!!

Kewl. Pulling no punches. Methinks that war has been declared. Indeed, the projecting Rats are already now saying "stop playing politices" with the war. Well, they started it and W, Cheney and the good guys are going to finish it...

I really like this piece:

"The saddest part is that our people in uniform have been subjected to these cynical and pernicious falsehoods day in and day out. American soldiers and Marines are out there every day in dangerous conditions and desert temperatures – conducting raids, training Iraqi forces, countering attacks, seizing weapons, and capturing killers – and back home a few opportunists are suggesting they were sent into battle for a lie."

It says exactly what the situation is--the DemRATS are traitors.

Not only is he brilliant (IMHO) it is a real joy just listening to him, his cadence, tone, everything, says - listen to me.

Another answered prayer. I just wish they'd have come out swinging sooner, but bless his heart, Cheney is really telling it like it is in this speech. If only it would be carried on the networks.

What's that old adage about glass houses.

If Bush and Cheney stick to their guns, they can run the Democraps out of town by pointing out how they are undermining our war efforts and, in fact, prolonging the war. Some RINOs need to listen up to this speech also.

And this is the thing that bothers me most about the recent failure to fight back.

This is a great speech!

I guess it's at a private venue (?)--it would be nice to figure out a way to send a copy to the troops.

Absolutely. He has the kind of authoritative demeanor and speech that makes you look up and listen. Too bad the MSM won't put this on live. I doubt they will give it more than a syllable of coverage. But the bully pulpit is a big weapon and the POTUS and VPOTUS should use it every day all day.

The President and I cannot prevent certain politicians from losing their memory, or their backbone. . .

Is this a shot across the bow of the gutless wonder Republicans in Congress that have not stood up against the war being raged by the Democrats?

None of the soldiers returning from this fight should ever forget the traitors. We should create a wanted poster listing them as wanted for treason. Keep this poster as a reminder of who has America's best interest at heart.

God bless our soldiers. You keep up the good fight there and we will keep up the good fight here. Together, we will defeat the enemy, both foreign and domestic.
