REBECCA BEACH BREAKS SILENCE on PROFESSOR JOHN DALY
MuscleHead Revolution ^ | 11.18.2005

Posted on 11/18/2005 2:19:09 PM PST by jodiluvshoes

This is the nasty professor who went after this female freshman for inviting Scott Rutter to speak at their local community college. The professor went on to say that our soldiers should execute their commanding officers in Iraq.

Rebecca Beach, the student involved, told her side of the story today in New York on Kevin McCullough's show. She is slated to be on Hannity and Colmes tonight .

The lunacy of this "professor" is hilarious. He admits he was a member of International ANSWER, "an anti-war group." Yet, in the same breath, says that "The administration at WCCC believes Rebecca Beach is an innocent student acting alone, but I recognized her literature right away as being part of a national right-wing movement. Her group is an ultra right-wing, possibly fascist, group."

Of course, all FReepers know the background of Internaional ANSWER.

ANSWER is run by Workers World Party (WWP) activists to such an extent that it seems fair to dub it a WWP front. Several key ANSWER officials — including spokesperson Brian Becker — are WWP members. Many local offices for ANSWER’s war protests have been housed in WWP offices. In 2002, when ANSWER conducted a press briefing, at least five of the 13 speakers were WWP activists. They were each identified, though, in other ways, including as members of the International Action Center.

What is the “Workers World Party?” It is a small political sect that years ago split from the Socialist Workers Party to support the Soviet invasion of Hungary in 1956. The party advocates socialist revolution and abolishing private property. It is a fan of Fidel Castro’s regime in Cuba, and it hails North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il for preserving his country’s “socialist system,” which, according to the party’s newspaper, has kept North Korea “from falling under the sway of the transnational banks and corporations that dictate to most of the world.” The WWP has campaigned against the war-crimes trial of former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic. A 2002 Workers World editorial declared, “Iraq has done absolutely nothing wrong.”

LA Weekly, November 2002

The ad hominem attacks upon this fine young woman by this vile ultra-leftist, anti-American socialist are despicable. Why scum such as this are allowed to teach our young is beyond me.

I just looked through 12 pages of DU posts/rants. Not a peep about this story. And I doubt they will mention it there at all. LOL

“John Daly was hired to teach English, not to verbally attack students and lead leftist protests,”

From the speech and writing of our recent interns, I'm not surprised this is what college English teachers are doing instead of teaching English.

Text of my letters sent this morning:

Dr. Austin et al,

I am writing to express my regret at the lack of brevity with which your college is responding to Mr. John Daly's threatening of one of your freshman students. To wit, let me revisit your college's "statement" issued yesterday.

-"It has been brought to the administration's attention that a part-time instructor, Mr. John Daly, speaking for himself...""Mr Daly responded to her alone..."-

He was absolutely not speaking for himself... "I am asking my students to boycott your event. I am also going to ask others to boycott it."

-"The College does however support the constitution, the first amendment, and the right to free speech."-

I am glad that you have decided to uphold the federal laws of the United States. Rebecca Beach was attempting to excercise her First Amendment rights, and Mr. Daly was clearly attempting to intimidate her into silence.
"I will continue to expose your right-wing, anti-people politics until groups like yours won't dare show their face on a college campus."
Additionally, Mr. Daly attempts to further reinforce his message with this cowardly, ignorant advocation for the murder of US soldiers: "Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on their superiors..." There is no doubt this was included to get his point across, as Ms. Beach's guest speaker was decorated Iraq war hero Lt. Col. Scott Rutter, who was coming to your college to discuss America’s accomplishments in Iraq.

-"Finally, the College is viewing this message as a personnel issue and will be addressing it according to the policies and procedures of the College."-

From your college's own "Anti-Harassment Code":

(inserted A-H code here)

-"Our attorneys have advised us of our obligation to follow state laws, board policies, and college due process in regards to any personnel matter."-

Excellent advice. I might also advise you of the federal statute regarding sedition. A judge may or may not link this definition with Mr. Daly's promotion of the murder of uniformed members of the armed services, but Mr. Daly certainly seems to think the time is right for revolt against the government.
"Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on their superiors and fight for just causes and for people's needs--such freedom fighters can be counted throughout American history and they certainly will be counted again."

U.S. Code
TITLE 18
PART I
CHAPTER 115
§ 2385. Advocating overthrow of Government
Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government; or
Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts to do so; or
Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.
If two or more persons conspire to commit any offense named in this section, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.
As used in this section, the terms “organizes” and “organize”, with respect to any society, group, or assembly of persons, include the recruiting of new members, the forming of new units, and the regrouping or expansion of existing clubs, classes, and other units of such society, group, or assembly of persons.

To underestimate the significance and gravity of this situation, both on a local and national scale, is to endanger not only the legitimacy of your own college but that of liberal education as well.

The eyes of New Jersey, and those of the nation, are upon you all.

I don't get it. The school administration said that basically there's nothing they can do since it happens not in public (it's personal e-mail). I think this can be considered a harrasment. Just imagine if the school's argument is applied to sexual harrasment case...

I wish his ignorance was shocking, but the fact is that many teachers believe that nonsense. John Daly needs to read the Black Book of Communism or any legitimate historical record of the deaths caused by communism. He is a double digit and should never be in a position to "teach" anyone as he knows less than nothing and his expression of his idiocy is actually harming students.

From your lips to the school's lawyers ears. The fact that it happened outside the school setting (personal e-mail) is even more ominous--like he's stalking her.

Comparing John Daly to America's military guys fighting in Iraq (I watch them on FoxNews and pictures here on FreeRepublic), I can't help but think, there are men and then there are MEN, and Daly isn't even a man. He should be on his hands and knees praying for the MEN who give him the right to freedom of speech. GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY!

This Policy refers to, but is not limited to, harassment for the following reasons: (1) Age, (2) Race, (3) Ancestry, (4) National Origin, (5) Religion, (6) Gender, (7) Affectational or Sexual Orientation, (8) Marital Status, (9) Handicap, (10) Creed, (11) Engagement in protected activity, (12) Veterans’ Status, or (13) Sex or atypical hereditary cellular or blood trait of any individual; and any other protected category to be subsequently included in the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination

Nice investigative report... :-) Now, which one that can be used to nail him?

bump this one back to the top.

Keep emailing the Board of Trustees and anyone else who can impact Mr. Daly's employment.

This is simply outrageous and it is certainly NOT protected speech under these circumstances.
