Rome, 24 Nov. (AKI) - A message menacing Western leaders including Italy's prime minister Silvio Berlsuconi appeared on an Islamist website on Thursday. The message - whose authenticity has yet to be verified - threatens to "decapitate" US president George W. Bush, Britain's prime minister Tony Blair, Berlusconi, Japan's prime minister Junichiro Koizumi, and Australian premier John Howard.
A section of the message - which reveals a good knowledge of Italian affairs on the part of its author- attacks Berlusconi, announcing: "the plan for his abduction has been laid - it only needs the go-ahead to be given." "Our appointment will be in April," the message reads. Italy is due to hold a general election on 9 April.
The message criticises Italian foreign policy and its continuing presence of Italian troops in Iraq, saying this has put Italy "on top of a volcano - for a mere 2,900 soldiers." It praises opposition leader Romano Prodi for announcing he will withdraw Italy's troops, and threatens "attacks on the streets of Rome, if candidates run the election who support war".
It describes as a "martyr" the mayor of a town near Naples who named one of its streets after former Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat instead of "The martyrs of Nasiriya" to commemorate the Italian soldiers killed at the military barracks in the Iraqi town in a November 2003 in a suicide bombing.
As in an earlier message threatening Italy, the message is signed by 'Rakan Ben Williams' - or 'bin Wilyamz', as it is written in Arabic - and by the purported al-Qaeda mouthpiece, the Global Islamic Media Front (GIMF). After the Amman suicide bombings in three hotels this month, GIMF published a letter signed by the same author, titled 'The next al-Qaeda soldier' warning of "white" converts to Islam who were preparaning for upcoming attacks in Europe and the US. GIMF has also posted webcasts of the so-called 'Al-Qaeda TV' to several Islamist sites in recent weeks.
I just hope we will find out enough to foil the attacks, although it's not easy, with all these terrorist lovers being more worried about how we interrogate terrorists, than about preventing attacks and saving thousands of innocent lives.

Remember when not too long ago President Bush said we foiled 10 planned attacks? And I am sure there were and will be more.
But remember, the threat and train bombing in Spain worked. The "brave" Spaniards rushed to elect a socialist who was pro-terrorist, and anti-Iraq war and to depose the PM who did have backbone, courage and intelligence to know that appeasing terrorists does NOT work.
So they are trying it again, after all, it worked once, and they are hoping the Italians will get scared, and not reelect Berlusconi.

I had an interesting conversation with an Italian friend of mine when we were talking about the Arab problem in Europe. He said that Europe's boiling point is almost there. He said that look what Europe did to six million Europeans (Jews) who were a little bit different and never caused any harm versus these recent immigrants.

Oh, I don't doubt that. I'm just curious about this ADNKI group and why they felt it was necessary to publish this. There's no end to the number of stories you could publish with the theme of "[Al-Qaeda affiliated group] threatens to do [spectacularly barbaric act]". Apparently ADNKI is an Arabic language "news" source based somewhere in the Mediterranean with some kind of Italian affiliation. Until I can read what the original Arabic side says, I will continue to strongly suspect that ADNKI itself is an Al-Qaeda/global jihadist proxy mouthpiece or at least a sympathizer.

They're jealous of the West in general and the Jews in particular. These death worshippers have nothing real to brag about, so they brag about the 72 virgins they've yet to see. They're actions have nothing to do with economics. Remember the 9/11 group were well off, some with graduate degrees. Look what Israel has accomplished in biotechnology and telecommunications to benefit the world in the past 50 years - the Islamic jihad themselves and their families have benefitted, though they'd never admit it.
