I think that'd be going full circle. Pretty sure it was the issue weapon in the 80's.
Limp wristing will cause a stoppage, but not a "light strike."
I wonder if it's a problem with the pracice ammo they're using. I've never heard of this sort of problem... I wonder if they've been monkeying with the Glock lockwork...

I consider the 1911 to be one of the very finest weapons made, maybe the best combat handgun ever designed. The problem through, is do you really want police officers, who don't practice on a very regular basis, to have a combat handgun as their primary weapon? That's what I like better about double action revolvers, or DAO semi-autos for the police: You need a more deliberate pull on the trigger to fire the weapon.

9 MM here!
I have the P220 in .45 too.
EAA? More info please (Christmas is coming, although I wanted a new shotgun...)
LOL! Just went to the range today. I really really like both of my Sigs! Although I was thinking of an HK as my next purchase....
And then there are those of us who could conceal a 6" N-Frame S&W! Under a T-Shirt! lol

"What do you mean I'm not in good shape? Round is a perfectly good shape!"
LOL! Not familiar with EAA... will check them out. Your opinion of HK?
Sigs have a hammer!
I once bought a lot, maybe 1000 rounds of surplus 9mm ammo. It was really cheap. One day my Nephew and I decided to do some plinking with it. We were using a Browning Hi-power and a Beretta model 92, an early one.
The Browning would fail to fire maybe half the time. It would fire every time on the second strike. The Beretta fired every single time. We fired maybe 200 rounds that day.
Now there was really nothing wrong with the Browning. It had never failed to fire before and never did again with regular ammo. Still it made me like the Beretta a little bit more.
Big Bucks!!!!
LOL! I love gun threads on FR!
"I like my Springfield 1911-A1 more and more every day."
Here Here!
Nearly 4 years, carried, and 6 to 10 thousand rounds and it goes bang every time. Got the "loaded" stainless with few whistles and bells. Did I mention it goes bang every time?
Bout 35 years ago, I got to see the LAPD range facilities and the reloading section. Big industrial machines spitting out .38 by the home depot bucketful. Granted this is VERY old news (as am I), but if they still reload their own training ammo, there could be some problems. The article didn't mention whether there'd been any misfires in OIS incidents. Sounds like a stronger striker spring is needed, possibly those put out by ISMI. These springs are silicon chrome, stress releived and shot peaned. They are strong, do not take a set, and last a very long time.
Serious men carrying weapons need to be more meticulous than recreational shooters about their care. changing springs yearly, test firing the same, and being fastidious about cleaning and lubrication.
Of course, this springfield armory pistol has gone as many as 500 rounds without cleaning (personal test).....bang every time!
Top sends
Whatchoo got to say about that?
My Glock 27 has never misfired, nor has your wife's or yours during the hundreds of times I've fired them.
I don't know about the 21.. maybe a bad lot?
You are obviously not acquainted with the armory on my old ship, sir. Our 1911's jammed, rattled, failed to fire, you name it. Man has yet to manufacture something that won't fail.
Now, don't start bashing me, the 1911 is the best handgun ever made, hands down.
MSRP of $1260.......
What's the effective range on your Millenium Pro?
How is the accuracy?
Why not a Sig (or is that personal preference)?
Thanks and God bless.
Do a search.

First i should say I am by no means a gun expert. I am very proficient with it at 30 yards. It hold 12 rounds and unlike previous Taurus models has a very smooth trigger action. that said My 24/7 is a full size 9mm and holds 17 rounds which I am a better shot with. I know a 45 has better stopping power but having fired Glocks and sig's I am more comfortable with my Taurus. I also own a s/w 38 special ultralight 5 shot revolver which is a nice conceal piece and a taurus 5 shot 357 which also does well for concealment.
