Bruno: Pirro should quit anti-Clinton race By MARC HUMBERT AP Political Writer November 29, 2005, 12:44 PM EST ALBANY, N.Y. -- The most powerful Republican in the state Legislature called Tuesday for Jeanine Pirro to give up her quest to unseat Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2006 and run instead for state attorney general. State Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno said the Westchester County district attorney could win the attorney general's race while in running for Senate, "she's going to have one of the most competitive races in the state." Independent polls have shown the former first lady well ahead of Pirro. "I hope that before this procedure gets too much further along that Jeanine Pirro would reconsider and run for AG.," Bruno told a state Capitol news conference. There was no immediate comment from Pirro. Bruno said he has not talked to Pirro about his feelings for a month or more, but had made those sentiments known to her repeatedly in earlier conversations. The Senate leader said he was also talking up the idea with Republican Gov. George Pataki and other GOP leaders. "All I am saying is while she may make a great U.S. senator, she would be of greater service to a state (GOP) ticket to be on as attorney general," said Bruno.p>

She will help do her thighness in permanently by running against her.

Not that she'd drop out, anyway.

Laying the ground for a less embarassing exit by Pirro.

I mean we at FR are going to substantially injure Hillary! with our history of her once she gets going in this race. The minute she starts leaning dirty on Pirro, she gets it back from VRWCs like us.

She should stay put. No one ever knows what can transpire with public figures. Hillary is vulnerable and one huge blow up could bring her down if the right person were in place and running.

I suspect Mr. Bruno's FBI file has some juicy tidbits.

Just think, if that clown Lazio ran even a half-decent campaign in 2000, we wouldn't be here now.

I am in Northern California and have gotten two solicitations from Ms. Pirro. They had no position statements and cited only her blessings from Pataki and Rudy as her qualifications.

I already have two biotches like her representing me from CA and I hate RINOs. So I must decline, just not my kind of Republican. Looks like Club for Growth and the NRA will get my funds for 2006 & 2008. Our money goes much further in the close interior fights than the candidates on the coasts who can spend $50 million of their own money to inflict Marxism on the rest of us.

1) I hope Spencer can take advantage of this. I like his positions, but he is still a little rough around the edges for a candidate.
2) Maybe the gubernatorial race will also be left up to the voters. Pat Manning and Randy Daniels are worthy candidates.

He did run a "half-decent" campaign in 2000.

That was precisely the problem.

This is a major blow to NARAL's GAL Jeannine. She would be able to walk into the AG spot and would be able to rally NO ONE from outside New York State. This is simply because the further you get away from New York, the less difference you see between NARAL's Sweetheart and the beast.
On the other hand, John Spencer can say things and do things that can make this the hottest race in America.
Conservatives from all over America will be able to see the difference between John Spencer and Hillary Clinton and they will.
Why is it that both Jeannine and her husband signed the same fraudulent tax returns and only he went to prison?
