...These people are here illegally. You have to provide a path for them to become legal...

So if I steal your car, you will have to find the way for me to legally keep it.

The second is that suburban middle-class Republicans (and Democrats) work long hours and need/want domestic help for yardwork and day care.

There may be some such influence, but if so it is weak soup. Illegals may make the yard look better for cheaper, but that isn't driving any political influence or donations. The high income conservatives I know are universally anti-illegal, domestics or no. It is those for whom hiring illegals enhances income that drive Republicans, not those for whom illegals are merely a personal expense.

You are forgetting about the anchor babies from the unlimited amount of "guest workers" who will be now be able to choose jobs in ANY sector. Not just those jobs "Americans wont do".

The lies that GWB has told on this issue are beyond anything even Cigar Boy told.

If anyone thought Kennedy's 1965 plan changed things, wait till this one has its effects!

I am utterly astounded at how GWB has betrayed those who put him in the office he sits in. He truly acts like King George.

BTTT for the Constitution Party! America has been sold out by the "two" parties.

They will pass this abomination despite the fact that the majority of Americans are strongly against any more illegal immigration or any more "guestworkers", and that we're sick of supporting them.

Every Senator or Rep voting in favor should be voted out in the next election.

I myself will sit out for sure if this goes through. I have absolutely had it with GWB. It has gotten to the point where I just turn him off most of the time when he is on tv and simply believe he has lost all credibility as commander in chief ignoring our southern border after 9/11.

Although this issue certainly is not new, it is far far worse now than ever before.

"Washington - Republican leaders will try to pass President Bush's controversial guest-worker proposal without putting it to a direct vote in the House."

If so, then what is left of the Hispandering GOP Big Tent will sink slowly beneath the waves. Conservatives have already pretty much abandoned ship; conservative money to the RNC has slowed to a trickle. Lets see how the GOP Washington crapweasels like running for reelection without conservative support.

Get this deeply embedded in your heads. There Will Be No Pensions From Social Security For Anyone If We Either Do Not Find More Working Age People Or Raise Taxes. There is no other alternative. Cutting benefits will never happen because old folks vote in higher density than other age groups.

3rd world immigrants including Mexicans and all those illegal aliens will never help Social Security they way you think. In fact they are welfare users right now. Many or most are tax cheats and pay in minimal amounts

If you advocate deporting working age people you are advocating tax increases. There is no way around this.

Get real. Sanctions and fines for those who employ illegal aliens and the problem will solve itself. Illegal aliens will self deport

These people are here illegally. You have to provide a path for them to become legal. They did something illegal?

Send 'em packing

Then make part of the process paying a fine. Make them jump through whatever hoops you like to become legal, but you cannot advocate deportation of working age people and also claim to be against tax increases for Social Security. Deportation is equal to a Social Security tax increase.

Sure you can. They will never bail out Social Security. Same as the Muslim rioters in France will never bail out the French social welfare system

Ah, one more rationalization from the OBL crowd. A Chris Cannon supporter by any chance? How's his former chief of staff doing? Staying out of prison so far?

One difference is that King George's invasion wasn't permanent.
Dubya's 'Temporary Worker' invasion will be, and America's culture will be drowned in the flood. But it's all for our good so don't worry.

To save Social Security, there must be a procedure put into place to convert these people into tax paying residents.

Social Security is a socialist scheme that needs to be done away with. Yet as we have seen, there is not the will in Congress to even begin that task in earnest. I'm not sure why we need a mandated retirment system at all, except that seeing it fail means a lot of people who paid into it will get screwed.

But you know what? I'd be willing to chunk it right now if it meant saving this country from an invasion of people who have no interest in our Constitution, our Republic, or our way of life, and turn the USA into another socialist empire. I would suffer that so that my kids could live in the America our Founding Fathers envisioned, fought for, and created.

If it's a choice between losing our country or keeping Social Security, I choose our country, despite whatever hardships it would entail.

Also, I don't think mass importation of unskilled labor is the answer to SS's woes. Suppose we do give amnesty to 10 to 30 million illegals, and they then did pay taxes. What is to stop another 10 to 30 million from invading the country and undercutting those workers under the amnesty, working as those here now illegally who work for less preciscely because they do not pay those taxes? What good will thirty million "amnetized" illegals do for us if they don't have a job because they have been replaced by more illegal invaders working under the table?

We have to secure the border from this illegal invasion. Nothing else will matter if we do not.

"...Gaza style removal of such a large number of people is completely and totally off the table, under any and all circumstances."

It may be for you and the rest of the Hispandering GOP big Tent RINOs, liberals and moderates, but not for loyal American conservatives.

"The party won't sell out its future with a rising majority."

No, the "Party" instead would rather piss it away by seeing 35% of its base leave. Which seems to be happening more and more with every passing month. Ask Ken Mehlman how his donation receipts are going these days.

Do you not see this ponzi scheme is doomed to fail at some point? Attempting to shore it up with imported low wage participants is insane.
