"Hey Rokke, you da man! Thanks for all the great advice,
W"
penned in on the bottom.
Yep .. of all people .. they quote him
I'm thinking the Washington Post is just trying to start trouble
WOW .. what a shocker there
Where's this typo y'all are talking about???
Is it in the original W'Post article, or in the excerpt that I wrote? I ask this 'cuz I'm legally blind, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are a dozen typo's in anything I try to type (besides, I dunno how to type anyhows).
LOL!
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
3 & 4 jumped out at me with respect to the war on terrorists. "Peace" with neighbors but mischief (hidden cells, putting a friendly diplomatic face on (Saudi, etc.) Pay back according to their evil deeds.
The verse on the card is very nice and P.C., but in the context of the Psalm it is not just "peace to us" but also "destruction to them".
And obviously I don't know what the President thinks! But, I imagine that something like this is looked at VERY closely at the context, history, etc.
Did it escape you, that today, crazies take exception to everything and anything?
One of President Nixon's Christmas cards had the family on the cover. Did you object to that as well...or didn't you get that one? ;^)
Barbara Walters?
Well, that's not what you said is it?
You said: Read the rest of Psalm 28 and see what the President is alluding too.
You said "read it and see what the President is alluding to."
So, since your post implied you DID know what Bush was trying to say, enlighten the rest of us.
True and it's pathetic! Perhaps they didn't get a card.
Wow, that's purty nice....thanx for showin it. :-)
Your guess is as good as mine. LOL
MERRY CHRISTMAS! :-)
I thought it was what the dog's were saying!
On mine Mrs. Beasly says "This is where I covered John Kerry with snow". And Barney says "Get out of the way and I'll do a dooty". The cat is running exclaiming "I'm tellingggg!"
(I've never trusted cats).
It's in the title of this thread. I don't know if you made a typo or of it's the WaPo; I didn't check. Sorry!
Count me in -- if it was a bright sunny day in the middle of winter some folks would complain it is too bright and we need clouds! :)
Good thing you added the sarcasm! :)
I backed off on "Knowing" what the president was alluding to, 'cuz obviously I don't. And excuse me if my lawyer's English isn't up to snuff (may be , perhaps is).
However, in reading my post to you and knowing that nothing gets put in a speech or in a letter or a card without a LOT of thought behind it - I think I'll stick with my original perception.
The overwhelming issue in the U.S. is the war on terror. It's the fight of good vs. evil. That's what this Psalm in part talks about. So yes, that is what (I think) the President is alluding to.
Cats are cool... they are the Mossad of the animal world.
Hmmmmmmm...my vision must be even worse than I thought: I've looked @ 3 pages-- (1) The FR "browse" page that lists all the threads, (2) the top of my thread page, & (3) the original WaPo page that I copied it from....& I still can't figger out where the typo is.
