The article is lacking a few facts. What level of DDT was detected? Modern GCMS can detect ppt levels, and even a gas chrom with an EC detector can pick up tiny quantities of chlorinated compounds.
Then, having stated the level, the article should say what the standard is for DDT in food, in that country.
If the level is, say, .05 ppb and the standard is 1 ppb, it's not too much of a hazard. But the author does not give us enough information to decide if it's a problem or not.
