And the idiots who voted for Sheldon Silver will vote him in again, and again, and again..

And he still hasn't paid for being a willing accomplice for covering up the rapes his aide committed.

" The FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program announced today that 142 of the Nation's law enforcement officers were feloniously killed in the line of duty in 2001. Of that total, the terrorist attacks of September 11 claimed the lives of 72 officers, and 66 separate incidents throughout the rest of the year took the lives of 70 officers."

Don't confuse only those killed by gunshots with the number of officer feloniously killed.

FWIW...

I'm not attempting to diminish the the gravity of the deaths.

My first post on this topic was based on anecdotal experience i.e.
I read the "news" every day & if the deaths were in the 100's ...it would've been a lot higher on my radar.

Okay, bigtime foot inserted into my mouth.

First I fat fingered the keyboard and typed 250 instead of 150. That is the figure I believed was the number of felonious deaths in the line of duty.

I was wrong, and I'm glad you pointed it out to me.

The number of on the job deaths avgs 150 a year and half of those are felonious deaths.

I will, when you save me by pointing out my error, fess up to my mistake.

I'm sorry if I misled anyone by giving bad info. but I'm glad I got corrected.

I should have done the math quickly in my head as I know it's between 1.75 per week who are feloniously killed in the line of duty.

Again, sorry for my stupid mistake.

No mention of party affiliation, so he must be a Dem.

I think that's possibly due to a recent change in management at the NY Post.

I betcha he'll go to the funerals of pedophiles from his district...NYS can't even get a decent law passed protecting kids because of this POS.

I wonder ---did his aide ever go to jail for raping that young woman...?

on a wide range of issues - this man is a piece of garbage. recall that the reason why pataki had to recently try and make that end run to avoid releasing those child sex offenders, is because Silver has been blocking the legislation for years.

I like to at least try to be optimistic that this sort of story starts to take a toll.

I know.
Hopefully they will wise up since Sheldon so nicely provided the quote for use.
Hopefully he gets hammered for it.
Nonstop.

No! Somehow the Albany (NY) DA allowed the rapist to plea bargain to a much lesser offense so he walked. He lost his job but I wouldn't be surprised if he turns up as an assistant to some other slug democrat here in NY.

Also, the victim was outraged at what the DA had done but her protestations fell on deaf ears.

I meant "honest" in the sense that he says he doesn't go to police funerals....cut me some slack, I've been out of the country for four years.

She's talking about nationwide statistics. Not NYPD alone.

20,000 cops, from as far away as Japan, went to that funeral.
