NEW YORK, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Talkers magazine reports conservative hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are the most popular radio hosts in the United States.

More than 13.75 million people listen to Limbaugh per week while Hannity draws more then 12.5 million weekly listeners, Talkers reported.

Michael Savage is third with more than 8 million listeners a week.

There is tie for fourth place between shock jock Howard Stern -- soon due to move to Sirius Satellite Radio -- and Dr. Laura Schlessinger with more than 7.75 million weekly listeners, the New York Daily News reported Saturday.

Laura Ingraham filled out the Top 5 with more than 5 million.

Talkers said it used Arbitron data and "other reliable indicators" for its semiannual rankings report.

"Where's Franken?"

Al Franken is an embarrassment, but he doesn't even know it.
He's the radio equivalent of Dan Rather with his fly open.

Sean Hannity's popularity has always been a complete mystery to me. He seems like a nice enough guy, but he's little more than a Republican party cheerleader. He's an abysmal debater, extremely egotistical, and not particularly funny. If the news was male modeling, he's be Derek Zoolander.

I am very glad for Savage.
In my opinion, he is the BEST.
I can not stand listening to Sean H. any more.
And Bill O'Reilly is making a come back.
He has become more conservative lately and I like his stand on Christmas.

Actually if you add them all up, there are 27 talkshow hosts on this chart that are ahead of Franken.

O'Reilly has really been doing a stand-up job lately, especially in his defense of Christmas. He's on our side a lot more than not. And he has clout.

exactly. I get irritated at O'Reilly often - but we conservatives seem presupposed to throw the baby out with bathwater. If someone doesn't agree with us on every point - "Off with his head"

That is, perhaps, our greatest weakness.

O'Reilly may be listened to by more libs than Rush ? because he doesn't always 'toe the line' .

So if more libs listen to him than to Rush - that's a good thing. We need more than the choir listening - they just may learn something other than what their usual libs MSM et all are spouting.

Golin Cowherd of ESPN radio has a better sports talk show than Jim Rome.

And the ratings say.... Rush is #1

Al Franken did not make the list.
As a host, he should cease and desist.
There's a miniscule chance
His spot will advance
Since his show's such a snap to resist.

"Hannity and Savage are virtually unlistenable"

Evidently 12.5 million people disagree with you that Hannity is unlistenable.

You're right about Brinker being only on the weekend. But that is why his numbers are even more amazing. Brinker's numbers are even more impressive when you consider that his show is about investing not politics. Not exactly a "light my fire" topic.

Brinker is an amazing radio talent. He has been host of MoneyTalk continuously since 1986. He has been on the air almost as long as Limbaugh. Limbaugh and Brinker have different audiences and work different sides of the street. But my vote is that evaluating them as radio talents Brinker is as good as Limbaugh.

Yes, I despise commercials. Thanks for the tip, finally I learn of a reason to get an Ipod. Hearing Rush at my convenience really makes me want one.

Agreed. Hewitt's is the best pure political show, even better than Rush's IMO.
