Where to Buy Christian Christmas Gift Wrap?

Posted on 12/11/2005 3:45:50 PM PST by Tangerine Time Machine

Each year it gets harder and harder to locate Christmas wrapping paper with a Christian theme. You know, the designs we used to take for granted: Babe in a Manger, the Three Wise Men, Peace on Earth, etc.

I thought it would be useful to pool our resources as to what is available out there in stores and on the Web.

After a few hours on Google, I've found two designs that fit the bill:

Jeweled Peace

We Three Kings

Clearly my Google-foo skills are deficient. Anyone else have some good sources?

I have always recycled birthday wrap and then holiday wrap as liners for the kids' dresser drawers.

By the time the summer birthdays are long gone the fresh christmas or hannukah wrap is a welcome surprise when they search for sox or t shirts.

Maybe I'll use Target fliers.

The Christian gift wrap is listed in the wrapping paper sub category.

One year I went to Wally World to buy our Christmas cards. All of the Christian cards were on the very top shelf! The one that has a sign to 'Please have an associate help you with these items' (paraphrased). I told an associate to bring the whole box down. I think it was placed up there on purpose, though I can't prove it.

Around here, we have a traditional Christmas.

Myrrh. Frankencense. No gold, though. It's been a lean year.

Nah...just alphabetical...I bet the Wiccans and the Zoroathrians were close to the bottom shelves....

"But that's just me. Though I'm pretty sure that Baby Jesus' initial gifts came to him sans gift wrapping. I'd bet you a roll or wrap that Hallmark is behind this multi-million dollar scam each and every year. ;)"

I prefer gift bags for big ones. Agree with your sentiments on the need to buy something that's only going to be thrown away....but I DO love watching little kids rip the stuff to shreds. That's one reason I don't bother decorating my own. (P.S. : I'm one of those who always carefully took the wrapping off whole so it could be used again)

You know Walmarts watches you, don't you? The fastest way for me to get help is to go get a ladder for the high stuff. Pages start happening and an associate comes running.

I don't know what you're talking about...Every store I go to has christmas themed wrapping paper. I think you guys are really getting carried away with this stuff. Last week, all I wanted was a menorah. The ONE symbol for Hannukah. There are literally thousands of Christmas decorations and symbols one could buy. For Hanukkah, there is but one. I went to every store in my town and there was not ONE sign of hannukah. The WalMart Superstore did not even have Hannukah cards. I finally found a Hallmark card store that had Hannukah related items (right when you walked into the store too!). the point is I'm not whining about it, and neither should you.

LOL! Unfortunately for us, the associates tend to notice Hubby's height (6' 8") and ask HIM to fetch a high item for them to hand to another customer. Easier than going for the ladder, I guess.

When I'm looking at something on a high shelf labeled "please ask an associate for help", even when an associate is right behind me, I ask hubby to "get that down for me please". They turn to give the classic dirty look...see how tall he is and pretend they've developed a case of amnesia.

So, is it okay to tear open baby Jesus wrapping paper?

Did you ever see that funny Marty Feldman movie, "In God We Trust"? Feldman plays a monk who has to leave the cloister and find a job in the outside world. He gets a job, naturally, in a factory that produces religious novelties--and his job involves nailing the Christ figures to the crosses.

Is this supposed to make me feel better? My point is that you guys are wringing your hands because supposedly you can't find Christmas themed wrapping paper. My point is you don't know and will never know what it's like to be virtually excluded in your own town. That being said, I am not complaining...I'm just stating a fact.

I'm going to ignore your obvious racist remark, but I'm going to ping my Jewish friends here so they know who you are and what you think about us.
