I speak especially of young Iranians, those born after Khomeini took over and turned Iran into a hellhole.

Reza Pahlavi's working on it, I believe (although I'd prefer to see a democratic government in Iran, not a return to hereditary monarchy).

I agree with your first point. Muslims don't care about Palestinians in the least (in Egypt and most countries, they're treated horribly), however everyone needs an identity and for most Muslims this identity is the opposition of "the Zionist state." To some degree this identity has been supplemented with the opposition of America, to a greater extent in some countries (which depend less on American aid and tourism) than others.

As far as the second point goes, you're wrong. Egyptians believe their victory in the October 1973 war against Israeli ultimately led to the return of the Sinai.

I'm well aware that Iranians aren't Arabs. In fact, some Arabs support Israeli (for example the Coptic Christians prevalent throughout Egypt). However, nearly all Muslims in the region hold the same views towards Israel since it is the basis of their modern Islamic indentity. Iran, certainly is no exception. Some Islamists try to phrase their ideology in more pleasent terms, which is actually much more dangerous than the "fanatics" who actually say what they really mean.

I can't argue against your knowledge of the region. All I can do is point to what Iranians say. Maybe they're lying, but I doubt it.

Be safe over there...

Do you think that there is preponderance of opinion in any Islamic nation that does not want to either convert the infidel or destroy him? This is getting harder and harder to believe. Or do you believe that Iran is primarily a nation of the a-religous.

After 9/11 I feel that the West and in the forefront, the United States was a target for Islamic conversion or destruction. I base this on the teaching of Mohamed,as represented in this article.

I wish the French, the Germans, and the Democrats would wake up. Besides, their lack of support for the war on terror caused this idiot to get so uppity in the first place.

I wish the Israelis would let the world know that they've updated the Samson Option for a post-Soviet world. That instead of incinerating Moscow in response to an Arab attack, they now plan on dusting Paris and Berlin.

Israel is widely believed to possess around 200 nuclear warheads, making it the only nuclear power in the Middle East, although it has never admitted having atomic weapons.

I believe in a few months Israel's stockpile of nuclear warheads will be reduced to around 185 and Iran's desire for Nuclear Power will be ......REALIZED.

I'm not Iranian, nor do I live in the Middle East. But I read a lot. One of the people I read is Michael Ledeen. Here's something of his (my underline):

The regime in Tehran is not reasonable, it is fanatical. It has waged war against us for a quarter century and it intends to destroy us. It claims to act in the name of all Islam, and views us as the greatest Satanic force on earth. It will not come to terms with us, because its very essence is hatred of us and of everything we represent. Knowing that the vast majority of its own people hate the regime and loves America, it murders, tortures, and oppresses them. When the mullahs appear to be acting reasonably and tell us they wish to help us fight terrorism, it is a deception, not an expression of their real desires.

Such quotes by recognized experts on Iran are easily found on the Net.

South Africa helped Israel develop those nukes many years ago.

France could ally with Iran. In that case Iran and France would be on the receiving end of an Israeli holocaust.

I wonder how the Christian faith would take the annihilation of the physical territory of Israel as Revelation tells a different story?

They do? Interesting. I remember them getting their asses handed to 'em on a platter by the Israelis.

I have to wonder if Ahmadinejad is that stupid and suicidal, or is he just good at saber-rattling like the N. Koreans. He has to know that the Israeli response will be, um, unpleasant. Imams and mullahs are always good at inciting others to give up their lives for Allah, but I notice they never practice what they preach.

I'm not claiming Egypt won outright, but they certainly didn't lose the October 1973 war. Regardless, it's irrelevant what you or I think, as is the truth itself. What I am saying is that every Egyptian believes Egypt won this war, which ultimately led to the return of the Sinai.

"it would not surprise me if the Jews who take revenge unleash their 200 nuke arsenal on the Muslim world."

The end of the world for the rest of us then. We would be dealing with the fallout and radioactive pollutants thrown into the atmoshpere for generations.
