The US invades and takes out the regime, instituting a democracy. How is that? Perfectly feasible, nothing they could do to stop us. The mass of their army would not fight, the mass of the people would support it all. The rate determiner? Leftists here crying about it.

Horsefeathers. It would not be 20,000 large nukes. Radiation might give a few people cancer who wouldn't have it otherwise, but more people would die in car accidents in the meantime. No, the people who have to worry about it are the people the bombs would kill immediately, and those radiation sickness would kill in the first few weeks, right at the target sites. Iran would not win a nuclear war with Israel today, but might if left alone for ten years (because Israel is much smaller, and it would not take many). The human cost is not something to put up with if we can help it - and we can (just take out the Iranian government conventionally, something the US can easily do). But it would not physically harm us appreciably. The precedent wouldn't be great, but letting terrorists get nukes and use them would be worse.

But the iron grip of the government institution of Iran, will require a bloody overthrow. If the Iranian people don't do it, it may be too late for any but a nuclear solution.

I pray the people of Iran are up to the task of overthrowing this oppresive regime before it is too late for the middle east and Persia.

Sure they lost it. They just did a bit more damage in the early stages than in prior fiascos. The war was stopped because the Russians threatened direct intervention to save the Arabs. But with our support, the Israelis were winning, and would have put armor in Damascus. The return of Sinai wasn't a result of war but of peace.

No, they're not. I saw a documentary the other day and the Egyptians actually have a museum to celebrate their "victory" in the 1973 war

Wow! THAT's Institutional Self-Delusion.

Mecca Medina Qom and not necessarily in that order. Israelis should waste them before the Muzz waste them. This is what the top Israeli councils are considering

'Besides, their lack of support for the war on terror caused this idiot to get so uppity in the first place.'

You are absolutely RIGHT. Our Democrats weaken our message and our percieved reaction; letting them (Iranians, this time), think they can get away with it. The Dems' are too liberal to put spoiled kids on notice till it's butt kicking time!

'I wish the Israelis would let the world know that they've updated the Samson Option for a post-Soviet world. That instead of incinerating Moscow in response to an Arab attack, they now plan on dusting Paris and Berlin.'

Think so? That would be sweet justice...... for the Europeans are allowing it to happen.

Get real. It takes just two nukes to kill Israel. Iran gives Jihadists nukes to smuggle into Tel Aviv and one for Jerusalem.  Arab armies and paramilitaries could then invade and take over. That's the end of Israel. Israel cannot destroy Iran with it's population of 70 million. Though it could in retaliation destroy Tehran, Qom (Shiite holy city) and key oil installations. In retaliation I would also wack Riyhad, Mecca and Medina - for good luck

"Ahhhhhh.......... the F-4 Phantom......physical proof that if you put big enough engines in a brick, it will fly..."

I worked on those in the 60's (Naval version) and we called them the "lead sled". Smoked like a dog too. I liked the A-6 better.

Sorry that is just rubbish, any sustained nuclear conflict will have a detrimental effect on child mortality as well as future fertility and child deformity statistics. This is not a welcome event, nuclear war is something that would happen as a last resort, not something to be cheered for. A conventional attack on Iran is far more sane and less damaging to the west.

Israelis didn't want Syria beyond the Golan.
Not relevant to their defense.

Egyptians put a real hurt on Israel those first few days.
The Egyptian army fought bravely this time, as most Israelis admit. They lost mainly because they violated
their own doctrine of not advancing beyond their SAM
umbrella (at the behest of Assad who needed help after
the loss of his armor in the Golan).

It's the old MAD plan: Mutualy Assured Destruction. The Arabs know they would suffer greatly in retalitation, including MECCA. I don't think they want their holy site melted, gotta worship that black rock! P.S. I think Kennedy and Hillary worship the black rock.....

Brain washed by Allah.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad- Allah intoxicated.
His mania for Islamic power stoked by his fantasies of imitating Muhammad's conquests

Yeah, that too, kind of megalomaniac and religion-mania
all rolled into one. Do they have lithium in Iran?

Horsefeathers. They are indeed considering serious strikes on Iran, which frankly is our job not theirs. The rest is your own sick fantasy life, nothing to do with reality.
