FReep 34 of Code Pink at Walter Reed, Dec 9 (Heavy graphics, Join us Dec 16!)
DC Chapter ^ | Dec 15, 2005 | BillF, with tgslTakoma and bmwcyle photos

Posted on 12/15/2005 8:33:35 PM PST by BillF

Edited on 12/16/2005 7:13:03 AM PST by Admin Moderator. [history]

On Dec 9, with temperatures below freezing, snow and ice on much of the ground, and an occasional breeze, we had a great turnout of FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond. This was FReep #34 as FReepers have countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center as they have for 9 months now. Santa Claus attended, as did many of his helpers, and a couple of his reindeer.

Code Pink is truly stuck in a quagmire as FReepers severely hinder the Pinkos' cynical attempts to manipulate severely wounded soldiers and relatives in hopes of finding those who will join the anti-war movement and break faith with the troops still fighting a ruthless enemy. (Indeed, Code Pink seems to be phasing out most of their participation in the protest and turning it over to other groups.) Please help us by showing up next Friday night per details below.  Stand up against the Pinkos who've endorsed "the Iraqi resistance" (as they call our enemy, see here and here), given money to the other side in Fallujah, and called our troops "killers." Then, the Pinkos demonstrate at the hospital and pretend that they support our troops.

Please join us this Friday, Dec. 16, at 6:30 pm per details below. Please also bump this thread to keep it on top.

As soon as possible, I will try to post some cold weather tips on this thread to keep you from freezing during this upcoming FReep and beyond. This Friday looks like it may be slightly warmer than last, with temps dropping from upper to mid-thirties and windchills just below freezing.

It was too cold for pizza eating on the corner this night, but tgslTakoma brought coffee and hot chocolate.

The honor roll of those in attendance (lurkers are marked with an asterisk*): 2nd Class Citizen, Adam from MD*, Albion Wilde, Apple Blossom, beandog, Bill from MD, bmwcyle, Coop, Fraxinus, Gondring, Joan from MD*, Justanobody, kristinn, Mary from MD*, Mr. Sarcastic, Mrs. Sarcastic, PleaDeal, tgslTakoma, Tom the Redhunter, trooprally (Mr. and Mrs.), and BillF.

The event was so large that I can only present that part of the story that I saw. If you were there, please describe your own experiences at the FReep. Also, let me know if I publish your photo without your name or, worse, I mislabel you in a photo.

[CLICK ON A PHOTO TO OPEN A LARGER VERSION IN A NEW WINDOW if it has a border around it. If a photo doesn't have a border, it is not hyperlinked to a larger version.  Click on another hyperlinked photo and its larger version should open in the same window that the first enlarged photo did. Or you can simply close the window with the enlarged photo and click on another photo in the report to open a new window with an enlarged photo. Note that some of the wider photos may open in a window wider than your screen and you can use a horizontal scroll bar to see parts. Photos will be interspersed in the report.

Photos were taken by tgslTakoma (click here for her full outstanding collection of photos and click here to read her great new blog), bwmcyle (click here for his full outstanding collection of photos) and I.  The photographer can be determined from the name of the photo. You can see that on hyperlinked photos (i.e., borders at edge) by running your mouse over them. On other photos, right click on the photo and click properties. The key is this: photos of tgslTakoma begin with "Dtgsl," photos of bmwcyle begin with "Dbmw," and photos of mine begin with "DSCN."]

See also the outstanding blogs of some of our regulars: PleaDeal (click here), who was there on Friday, has an account with photos; Landry Fan (click here and go to the December 8 entry, with updates for her second-hand account of the FReep) (second hand because circumstances blocked her attendance);  and Tom the Redhunter (click here), although he hasn't published an account of Friday's fun FReep.

Opposed to our 22 patriots, the Pinkos managed to get at most 20 America-hating traitors and their well-meaning, but incredibly-misguided, dupes. The dupes do not realize that their Pinko organizers, who claim to support our troops,  call our troops "killers,"  endorse "the Iraqi resistance" (those killing and wounding our troops, see here and here), and  have given money to "the other side" in Fallujah.

It was too cold and breezy to deploy the MOAB (Mother-of-all-banners) so we deployed our usual array of signs. We did have Santa, numerous Santa hats, and several reindeer antler hats with flashing red nose lights, all courtesy of the brilliant and energetic tgslTakoma. (Anyone want to bet that this coming Friday, the Pinkos will have a Santa and will later claim in their report that the FReepers "stole the idea of having Santa in attendance from them?")

Far north end of our primary corner (L-R): Adam from MD, Albion Wilde, Bill from MD, Apple Blossom, and Mary from MD

Veterans (and their supporters) are judged nice on Santa's list

Attendance always rises when I'm not at one of these FReeps. Someone explained it to me, "it's either your looks or your personality and, Bill, you're a hell of a nice guy." Therefore, I tried to disguise myself as an anarchist Santa's helper as shown on below right. I wore my balaclava covering my face for part of the FReep. Getting too hot (that's right, too hot), I was forced to pull part of the balaclava down below my chin. I don't think that I drove any FReepers away early, but some late arrivers may have turned around, instead of parking, when they recognized me.

With Santa (Mr. Sarcastic) there to cheer us on, FReepers had a blast in spite of the cold. Indeed, properly dressed, one can be toasty warm (would you believe comfortable?) regardless of the temperature, especially when there is no rain or snow falling.

We did, however, reprise our global warming chant under Coop's skilled direction:

Leader (Coop): WHAT DO WE WANT?

Group: GLOBAL WARMING!

Leader: WHEN DO WE WANT IT?

Group: NOW!!!

Tom the Redhunter, Coop, and Adam from MD

With tgslTakoma and Santa respectively at the left and right foreground, the Pinkos are visible across the street with red and green
Christmas light artifacts in between as provided by passing cars.

Bruce Wolf at right takes a photo, but it is unclear if he ever publishes his photos these days. (In late Oct and early Nov, Pinkos had
photos in their reports, but nothing lately. Maybe their html person is now at Club GITMO?) We'll have to get Halliburton to investigate.

Guy behind camera tripod at center is thought to be the weasel or some such rodent.

Weasel holds American flag. Maybe his gloves will protect him from the rash that leftists usually get from touching our flag, except
when they set fire to it.

One of the leftists pulled a Santa's hat out of her vehicle. Meanwhile, the Pinko in all black was dressed as a witch for Halloween
a few months late. This reminded me that the night was colder than Gael Murphy's upper torso (or a particular part thereof).
Coincidentally, Chief DC Code Pinko Murphy was AWOL for the 3rd week in row.

Traitors in the snow. I think that is Perry Guitar Guy, without his guitar, in the brown outfit in the middle.

kristinn tormented the Pinkos for not standing up to President Bush. He pointed out that the Pinkos chickened out of their Cuba trip simply because of the letter from the Bush Treasury Dept. He pointed out that Chief Pinko Medea Benjamin and DC Chief Pinko Gael Murphy could pay the $1 million fine readily. Plus, if the assembled Pinkos were true revolutionaries, why would they let a little thing like ten years in jail discourage them?

I shouted that the Pinkos could still make the Cuba trip. "Just swim to Cuba. Free healthcare, free education. It's a socialist paradise."

kristinn, was on top of his game as he also chided the Pinkos, especially their eunuchs, about the Pink balls that the Code Pinkos had given to Howard Dean. I can't remember all that he said about that, but my comments on the pink balls are as follows: Those are appropriate in so many unintended ways, both for Howard Dean and for the guys standing with Code Pink. Hey Pinko guys, "if you get pink balls from Pinkos, don't expect that they will work like real ones!"

Coop taunted them relentlessly. Among other things, he shouted "I'm not a murderer," which is what Crazy Backpack Guy said to him upon being asked whether he served in the military. (More on that below.)

We shouted across the street at the Pinkos that Gael Murphy was at her FL condo, laughing about them standing in the cold. Murphy has been a no-show for three weeks in a row.

They seem to be hiding something behind the banner. Two Pinkos in flagrante delicto? No, using the Halliburton X-ray camera,
we were able to determine that they were drawing names for the door prize. If people are interested, let me know and I will post a
photo of the prize later on the thread
.

A closer view as they concentrate on the hidden happening behind
the banner.

The only flag that they wouldn't want to burn. Don't tell the ACLU
about the Christmas Tree in the background on federal property.

Eric Squeegee Guy at right was subdued.

Luke biked in late to talk with Comrade Bruce Wolf, who was in his blue proletariat uniform.

Arse Wipe Backpack Guy, stuck on stupid, with signs illegible,  nm
unless you're using lens to enlarge the appearance

QUIET ZONE sign used by leftists after cars honking for us
outnumbered honks for them by a wide margin

Their QUIET ZONE sign, above,  lacked its usual irony as Perry Guitar Guy's guitar was "borrowed" by Halliburton to put in the GPS, video, and microphone.

Stuck on stupid, Crazy Backpack Guy at left continues to use a sign that nobody can read except with binoculars or a telephoto lens. He wants us to see our recruiter, despite the fact that a large number of the FReepers are veterans and others have close family members in the service now or who are veterans.

A couple weeks back, Coop, a Marine veteran of the Gulf War, went to the other side of the street after the Pinkos had abandoned one corner and were leaving. Crazy Backpack Guy walked past the American-flag-holding Coop and said "It doesn't matter if you let the flag touches the ground as long as you wipe your arse with it."

Coop said: "Come on over and try to take this flag if you feel like wiping." [Arse kept walking.] "I've served for this flag. Have you? Have you?"

Arse Wipe said: "No, I'm not a murderer." Clearly, Code Pink is a vicious anti-troop hate group.

Arse Wipe Backpack Guy pretends that he wants us to join the military, even as he hates the troops so much that he leaves a trail of slime up to a hospital where he tries to torment war-wounded heroes. He considers that our troops are murderers, but thinks people will take it seriously when Code Pink says that it supports our troops.

Arse Wipe Guy is apparently proud of the really small letters on his signs. (He's had equally ridiculous and illegible signs in the past.) Earth to Arse Wipe, no matter what your real close (if you have any???) female or male friends tell you, SIZE REALLY DOES MATTER. Did the Pinko women give you your pink balls yet? How are they working out for you? They, like the Pinkos, would guarantee a limp response when conditions would justify really sticking it to America's enemies. Oh wait, that's right, you'd rather leave America helpless. I will say that you holding the IMA-WIMP message on your sign is truly accurate.

We do thank Arse Wipe for the comic relief that he has supplied from early last summer until now and hope (know?) that our gentle ribbing of the little guy won't cause any hard feelings. I mean, it's not like we called him a murderer, as Arse Wipe impliedly, but clearly did to Coop.

There was no bus of wounded heroes and family back from free meals at Fran O'Brien's (a fancy DC restaurant) tonight.

Let's help our wounded heroes maintain a positive attitude.  We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded troops at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. If you live in the DC area and haven't yet come out for one of these FReeps, please do so this next Friday. Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.

If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their commonly-used signs) demonstrations at the hospital. At the very least, we can hinder their psychological warfare operation against the wounded troops. What about you? Can you spare a few hours on a Friday night?

Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?

This FReep is rewarding, fun, and important for our troops and our nation.

For those of you in the DC area, we need some additional FReepers to join us for FReeping Code Pink every Friday night, until further notice, starting at 6:30 pm and until about 9:30 pm. How about coming out this Friday? You can join us in progress if you can't make the beginning of the event.

Can you sacrifice an evening to honor the much greater sacrifice that the troops are making for our freedom?

We shall continue FReeping the Code Pinkos every Friday night until they stop their obscene blood dance outside the hospital of our war-wounded. If you agree with me that it is outrageous for Code Pinkos to protest a war at a hospital with war-wounded troops inside, please come out and join us in a peaceful counter-protest.

One of the amputees told me months ago that he doesn't want other wounded troops coming into Walter Reed and seeing only the Code Pinkos at the gates. He explained that the FReeper presence there was extremely important to counter the Pinkos. Please join us and be a part of our peaceful counter-protest to Code Pink.

Please don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy with TV, ballgames, movies and other recreation to peacefully counter America-hating leftists.

Being there with us in spirit is great, but we need people to hold the MOAB (Mother of all banners), other signs, and flags. Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future.

As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.

Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave., at Elder St., NW

Code Pinkos have been setting up on the southwest corner of the Georgia Ave/Elder St intersection. We've been setting up on the northeast corner across the street from Walter Reed's entrance gate. Now, their permit purportedly covers both corners on the west side of the street.

On street parking is usually easy to find. Location is about 6 or 7 blocks from Takoma metro station and is walkable, but it is best if you get a ride. If you want a ride, FReepmail me with your cell phone number or, if you have no cell phone, your ride request, preferably by 2 pm Eastern time. The later your FR-mail, the greater chance that I won't read it in time to get you a ride.

DC Chapter ping! Please bump this thread to keep this on top of the latest posts.

FReepmail me to get on or off the list.

Incidentally, I asked the mod to correct my post as I left out the number of Pinkos. There were 20 of them.

Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.

If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their signs) demonstrations at the hospital.

Our troops are bold enough to face bullets, mortars, IEDs, and suicide bombers. Are you bold enough to get out from behind the keyboard, FReep in person, and stand up for the wounded troops at Walter Reed?

If you're in the DC area and don't have family or work considerations that keep you from FReeping, can you spare a few hours on a Friday night? Will you?

The Pinko prize is a particular keyring as shown below, but you have to read the report to understand the significance. (Hint, Howard Dean got something like it from the Pinkos.)

Thanks for the kind words, TRT.

We were honored to have Jan in Colorado join us in FReeping Code Pink quite a few months.

If you ever get to DC, you're invited to join us in a FReep. If there is no FReep, we could try to meet you for lunch or dinner.
