WASHINGTON President Bush said Saturday he personally has authorized a secret eavesdropping program in the U.S. more than 30 times since the Sept. 11 attacks and he lashed out at those involved in publicly revealing the program.
"This is a highly classified program that is crucial to our national security," he said in a radio address delivered live from the White House's Roosevelt Room.
"This authorization is a vital tool in our war against the terrorists. It is critical to saving American lives. The American people expect me to do everything in my power, under our laws and Constitution, to protect them and their civil liberties and that is exactly what I will continue to do as long as I am president of the United States," Bush said.

Bush and his cabinet need to go on the 100% total offensive against the "spying" critics. They need to enlist Coburn and other right-thinking Senators to take to the floor and denounce their traitorous colleagues.
FOUR MORE YEARS!!!! WE WANT BUSH!!!!
no any mention of Lincoln will bring a Neo-Confederate out.
Or, jerk offs such as thou.
Thanx
I'll politely disagree. You are furious. So am I. Just sent the candidate for US Senate most likely to win the Minnesota GOP nomination, Mark Kennedy my yearly maximum $2000.00 contribution. Guess I will just have to get another year out of my current computer instead of replacing it for Christmas. Some things are more important. I do not want to defeat these scum, I want them destroyed. I want them howling in the wilderness of political irrelevance for the rest of their lives.
Or more commonly known NATION-WIDE as the Civil War.
yes even in the South. Maybe not among FReepers from the South, but they aren't the only people down there either last time I checked.
That is correct. Guess who leaked it? Hint; it's one of the current most vocal anti-American Senators.
Under the circumstances, I'd like to see him run again now!
You noted also that Fox totally dropped the ball by not carrying his speech live, and they are still broadcasting canned only programing.
>>I'm all for eavesdropping.
I'll bet Hillary eavesdropped on Bill and Monica a few times (knowing her she'd have a mute button so Bubba couldn't hear her breathing on the phone line!)
Repeal the 22nd Amendment...
>>The Twenty-second Amendment of the United States Constitution sets a two-term limit for the President of the United States. Prior to the adoption of the amendment, the Constitution set no limit on the number of presidential terms. The United States Congress proposed the Amendment on March 21, 1947. It was ratified by the requisite number of states on February 27, 1951.--Wikipedia
Let's get a campaign going to repeal the 22nd Amendment. It will drive the lunatic left nuts! Need a special web site, maybe freerepublic can help with this?
If you look objectively at the issues, both then and now, a thinking person may draws many parallels: States rights, cultural issues (a big one), regional economic power, federal power, war powers, international support or non-support of our federal gov, espionage, breakaway regions/states, etc. The issues of the Uncivil War are more germaine than some realize. Many of them remain to be settled.
Ah, that was back in the good old days when the US treated terrorism as a law enforcement issue. A policy that was so effective that we had the WTC 1 trial morph into the now WTC at all.
And Patrick Fitzgerald was involved in these prosecutions and we all know Fitz can do no wrong.
Listen up MSM and Rats...
Wayne LaPiere once said that the Clinton Administration was willing to put up with a certain level of violence, in order to further their political aspirations. I don't believe that this has changed at all with the leftists in the dem party, as well as the MSM. If anything, since President Bush was elected, they've decided to do anything it takes to achieve the goal of removing him from office. In fact, I'm more convinced than ever that they're actively trying to help the enemies of the United States, as long as it helps them get rid of the Bush administration. They don't care how many servicemen and women, as well as American civilians have to be killed in order to achieve that end.

The NY Times rides on its ill-perceived glory as the paper of record. It takes a long time to knock this sort of thing down. Ask an average American carrying this country on their back, out earning a lawful living and raising the next generation, and they'll tell you the NY Times is a fine, respectful paper. It's not that they're stupid. They're BUSY! They pay attention during election year and the rest of the time they keep this country chugging.
It's a long haul to expose these people for what they are. It can only be done from a presidential bully pulpit.
So far as I'm concerned, and I'm not casting blame for I'm as shocked as anyone, this country is being infiltrated by the enemy and their baggage is being carried by corrupt, paid-off media and politicians out of power and seeking to regain it.
Three years to make us lose this war. They're working like the dickens on it. I fear they might really, really win.
I forgot there was an amendment. You need a 2/3 vote of both houses to pass it, right?
That's what I'm talking about!
