Bush Admits Approving Eavesdropping Dozens of Times

WASHINGTON — President Bush said Saturday he personally has authorized a secret eavesdropping program in the U.S. more than 30 times since the Sept. 11 attacks and he lashed out at those involved in publicly revealing the program.

"This is a highly classified program that is crucial to our national security," he said in a radio address delivered live from the White House's Roosevelt Room.

"This authorization is a vital tool in our war against the terrorists. It is critical to saving American lives. The American people expect me to do everything in my power, under our laws and Constitution, to protect them and their civil liberties and that is exactly what I will continue to do as long as I am president of the United States," Bush said.

Yet here is the headline. These Dinasour Media scum are too stupid to even keep their lies straight.

No Comment Bush quiet on secret NSA eavesdropping; official says the president OK'd the program repeatedly"

President Bush is the best war-time President since Lincoln. He put the paddle to those who think terrorists should have privacy while they are plotting their attacks.

I'm all for eavesdropping. Lets bug the phones of Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Hilliary, and John Kerry.

Hopefully the President now realizes that there are indeed traitors to freedom and they are sitting in our congressional houses, in the CIA, in the Pentagon, the State Department, perhaps even in the West Wing but most importantly - they consist entirely in the Main Stream Media.

No longer can the President treat those in congress with the same consideration that he has. He needs to treat them as rabid dogs waiting to infect all those they contact with a deadly disease, anti-Americanism and especially anti-freedom.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we lose Bin Laden in the late 90s because of a leak that we could eavesdrop on his cell/satellite phone?

The president said today that he has briefed Congress dozens of times about this matter and there was never an objection!

No, no. You can't DARE give the president advice. You will be labeled a whiner. There is a faction on FR that believes we must not EVER write any suggestions for how things could be done a tad bit better.

Agree whole heartedly. The next question is: "Is Congress willing only to crucify the Administration or is the 'leaker' of classified information to be found and prosecuted".

I'm glad he responded to this quickly but why just a radio address? The Gipper was so effective when he talked straight to the American people via prime time TV. Why won't Dubya do the same thing? (besides flubbing his lines occasionally)

GOOD! We the People, not the leftist elite, want the U.S. Feds to spy on traitors and terrorists!

The Feds can spy on me too: I am an agrarian traditional conservative libertarian anarchist who is first and foremost patriotic to America, its ideals, and to its people and the land - America the Beautiful.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanakkuh, and
God Bless our military and their allies.

If it was classified, then we need a special prosecutor to prosecute whoever leaked it to the NYT.

Good for him...The Democrats will get in a hissy fit and will hopefully be ignored. JFsKerry will come out saying that the president should be impeached immediately, before stepping back and realizing that he is a senator, and a move must come from the house of reps, which is controlled by the pubbies. The demonic rats will be forced to step back and realize there's absolutely nothing they can do but holler and yell about it.

President Bush IS addressing the nation, tomorrow night from the oval office at 9 pm. Hopefully he will bring to the attention of the nation the enemies within.

In August '01 if I recall, we seized a computer that contained vital 9/11 info that could very well have prevented it. The rules the democrats are whining about are the rules that kept us from stopping 9/11
