"Super Size Me" helmer Morgan Spurlock has optioned bestseller "The Republican War on Science" to direct as a docu project next year reports Variety.
The novel by Chris Mooney explores the motivations behind the U.S. government's stances on scientific topics, from stem-cell research and climate change to missile defense and sex education.
Mooney argues in "War" that the right-wing approach to scientific research is born of a conservative distaste for environmental, health and safety regulations, as well as evolution theory and legalized abortion.
Spurlock will develop the project through his shingle Warrior Poets. Spurlock recently produced the docu "Class Act," about the elimination of arts programs in schools.
So now they're openly basing their "documentaries" on works of Fiction?!?!

Although he made SOME valid points in the movie "Supersize Me" it was obvious to me then that Spurlock was a lefty nutjob.
Arts. He says we have this anti-science agenda, but his last opinion-piece claimed that we cut arts out of school.

I do get a kick out of the labeling of the piece as a "novel". It's almost an outright admission that the whole premise is false.
Oh, well, folks. Welcome to the Brave New World, where denying federal funds to research makes one "anti-Science".
We ought to flip this whole concept about a War on Science around, folks. After all, we're not the ones opposed to the trial of new mining technology or genetically enhanced crops. We aren't the ones who send in activists to blow up research labs, either, I notice.
Spurlock is a leftist nut. When he introduced us to his ultra-vegetarian wife in "Supersize Me," I knew it was going to be an anti-corporate propoganda flic.

This character is from my state of West Virginia. From everyone here with a modicum of good sense...we are deeply embarassed and sorry.8-)
Of course, the balance of time was spent demonizing the big, bad food industry-which is, of course, shoving Big Macs down the throats of utterly helpless Americans-while Jacob Sullum-one of the few reasonable analysts portrayed in the film-was given a whopping two minute sound bite to offer a rebuttal of the documentary's main thesis.
My, aren't the liberals generous?
I would gather that most ultra-lefties are stunned that Americans prefer fatty, fast foods to eating rocks and dirt. What a surprise.
I thought it was a good film. A bit exaggerated of course since you are asking for trouble if all you eat is McDonalds for a month.
But, a good film.
However, it was pretty clear he was a big lefty. Too bad he now wants to go down that road some more.
As a side note, when I was in the "dating market" I posted a personal ad. In my ad I specifically said "no vegan chicks, PETA members, or militant feminists, unless the term 'right-wing feminist' applies to you."

I've met him, and believe it or not, he's actually a nice guy in person.
