[history]
A man trimming trees was killed after he apparently was pulled into a wood chipper, police said.
The tree-service employee died Wednesday while he and a co-worker were cutting branches at a Loveland residence, Police Sgt. Rae Bontz said.
"It appears he was pulled into the chipper," Bontz said. He described the death as an industrial accident but released no other details, saying police were investigating.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Probably didn't even have to check for a pulse...

I worked in a sawmill and I worked with a woodchipper that probably made this one look like a baby. It was one frightening critter.

Damn, my browsing style does this to me all the time. I see a bunch of subjects, middle-click to open them in background tabs, then go through and read.
So I post "Fargo" after someone else already has. I need to hit refresh when I get to the tabs.

Please, how about a shred of decorum. I guess I didn't realize this thread was supposed to be a joke. A man doing an honest job and has a tragic accident is now funny, unless of course it is your family member.

I was just walking by tree trimmers at a local residence using a wood chipper the other day, and noticed how powerful the machine is to chop up thick braches. I imagine the man stuck his arm too far down into the machine when he was stuffing cut branches and it pulled him in.

Loose long clothing is the enemy when working with equipment. Had a father in law that got his coat caught in a corn bine (sp)? Luckily he was able to slip his coat before it pulled him in.

To: MeanWestTexan
Thank God no...but we would get "off the wall" brands of chippers that we so rigged and had safety features bypassed that it's almost amazing accidents don't happen more often.

There is a safety bar designed to stop the chipper's cutter drum when contacted by the lower body of the operator; it actuates a caliper brake on a large disk and will upset the chipper itself if not attached to the truck used to tow it.
OSHA will be all over this one.
