This is remarkable film footage. This is a night vision movie from Iraq, showing live action against Iraqi insurgents. The pictures were taken from an AC-130 Specter gunship two and a half miles from the target. The guys in the picture are setting up a roadside bomb and planning to ambush an American convoy which followed a short while after the pictures were taken. They were setting up the ambush and were pacing off the distance from the bomb to where the convoy was to pass by.
Turn your sound up. The level of effort these Specter crews put forth to control the enemy's antics is commendable, and their marksmanship with those electronically controlled 40mm cannons is astounding.

Isn't that the same video that was shot from an Apache at least a year ago? Doesn't look like it could be from a fixed-wing aircraft.

an oldie, but a goodie.
My friend brought this video back from Iraq a few weeks ago (plus a few others). He said that it was a helicopter that shot these guys. He also asked me not to put these on the internet for security reasons.
Weird. Last year this was a video shot from an Apache.

Yup. Same one. This is an attack helicopter engaging 'insurgents' on the ground.
I've seen a truncated version of the video, and it was represented to be a AH-64B attack --- which did not quite jive with my experience, although my experience is rather dated.

Old Apache footage, from over a year ago.
I saw this a couple of years ago and I believe that it was an Apache, not an AC-130 that attacked the terrorists. I could be wrong, though. Thanks for sharing it with us again--I am always amazed (and terrified) by our military's capability to deal death to our enemies.
I've seen this video several times. What I don't understand is why these guys were putting a "weapon" in the field? What good would it do there? Was it actually an explosive that would be detonated once a car drove by?
Also - it's simply amazing at how those guys just vanish into thin air when shot.
I've seen this before, and thought it was taken from an Apache.
It was an Apache... and It happened in 2003 if I recall correctly...
I love watching these videos... need more.
