I have created a backup board if Free Republic is down here which hasn't been happening much lately thanks to the fine work of the FR team.
"NBC's Brian Williams reporting from Tel Aviv."
I noticed Tucker Carlson is also in Tel Aviv. He was rather subdued. His right hand man back in the studio played more of a role back in the studio and I think he's about ready for prime time. Sharp fellow.
Watching last night I couldn't help but think the 24 hr news channels are reliving the Katrina days again.
Leading Saudi Sheik Pronounces Fatwa Against Hezbollah
One of Saudi Arabia's leading Wahhabi sheiks, Abdullah bin Jabreen has issued a strongly worded religious edict, or fatwa, declaring it unlawful to support, join or pray for Hezbollah, the Shiite militias lobbing missiles into northern Israel.
make me sick to my stomach. David Gregory on MSNBC asking advice and information of Sandy Berger. Berger saying Condi can't just arrive in the middle east and get results, lots of diplomacy must take place first.
Berger has lost lots of weight
It's not too early for American diplomats to lay the groundwork for Rice visit, Berger says.
Of Bolton Berger says back in the day, the US gov held more sway with Syria than we do now.
Berger says we can't let this go on forever, in terms with the new Iraqi gov, suggest we need to end this, and for the second time Berger says "we aren't going to end this by Rice going over there, blowing her whistle and saying the game is over."
David Gregory in recapping the violence, failed to mention the rockets landing in Israel.
President Bush's live speech at the NAACP Convention at 10:30 am. It will be live on C-Span and C-SPAN Radio too.
I don't have to worry about her. She thinks he's a POS and she's a democrat. I don't have a daughter so I'm ok.
Via RealPlayer. I missed this yesterday on Washington Journal. Claudia Rosett was on for an hour and the link to her column is from the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday:

MSNBC reporter in Haifa Mark Potter chattering away with blonde anchor Alex, couldn't be more helpful to Hezbollah gunners! It's maddening to hear Potter say, "no rockets have hit the ammo depot yet, they are hitting a little to the north of the depot". I hope some of you will complain along with me.
And for balance this morning, MSNBC anchor babe Alex, is interviewing Pat Buchanan and Demo strategist, Peter Fenn. It couldn't be more unbalanced if they tried.....both are bashing Bush!!
Fenn says the US government ought to send someone over there to negotiate, who has real clout...as if Condi doesn't.
Someone, who couldn't take it anymore, posted a vanity which says I'm not alone in my assessment.
This is such an LOL coincidence! Just yesterday a friend emailed the same "drama queen" description of Shep Smith, and my husband totally agrees. But I like the job he's doing, while not nearly as well-informed, factual, and competent as Amy Kellog and Jennifer Dunn, Shep at least seems involved and focused on his specialty = the Israelis' willingness to endure.
I like the job "The Neck" is doing too.
Back to Shep. He has not asked the dumbest question of the conflict. That dubious honor goes to MSNBC anchor babe Contessa, who asked the expert, "is this conflict helping or hurting Hezbollah?" I couldn't stick around for his answer.

Guess you're not watching the same Shep (Hezbollah apologist) that I am. Here's something from the thread I linked above:
To be more specific, he was talking to a former IDF special ops or something, made the comment to the commando about the IDF "running back with their tails between their legs". The IDF commando responded calling hezbollah animals, and Shep interrupted him and gave him hell ... his moral outrage "and wasn't he part of the problem for name calling, etc"... he went on a real rant. It was so disgusting. I hardly ever email anyone... but he is way way out of line.... He truly must be a bed wetting, tree hugging liberal and if he can't hide it any better he shouldn't be in the news business at all, but he certainly should stay in the studio instead of getting so close to the action that his moral outrage overshadows his "reporting". The Israeli government should deport him.
No, I didn't see Shepard Smith go overboard as you describe. I'm really surprised and disappointed, too. Now I've had to change my mind about him, and thanks for straightening me out!!! And as punishment, I'll force myself to tell Honey he was right about Smith all along.
Oh no - never let 'em know they're right or we'll never hear the end of it. Let's just keep it to ourselves, LOL.
I saw the same thing -- he is "on the bridge" again
