It was also an Islamic Republic Air Force plane, but a C130. 94 people died, mostly journalists. Do we use old C130's to carry OUR MSM journalists? (ahem)

interesting!
I'm not usually a 'black helicopter' type, but I did find it odd how evasive they have been to the occupants of the Blackhawk. The last I had heard was it was a few real military with some unidentified civilians. It's get's curious if the civilians were CIA operators.

According to Michael Ledeen, National Review Online:
Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, although probably in his sixties, is said to have serious liver cancer, and is not expected to survive the next year.

Why do I get the feeling either Israeli or CIA black ops types had a hand in this?I doubt it. If we wanted to take out their aircraft, you'd see their skies swept clear -- not just one crash. Iranian incompetence is a far more likely explanation.
To: llevrok
I don't think the age of the aircraft is a problem, as much as bad maintenance.
I'd gladly fly on older aircraft (like an older C-130, or even a C-47) if I felt it had been well maintained.
But I'd worry about getting on a new aircraft if it was maintained and operated by an insane Islamic government.
To: doc30
Wasn't there also a recent plane crash into a building in Iran?

I agree.
The C130 is a legend (like the DC3, Super Con, Warthog, B52). Well maintained, they are like the Energizer bunny. They just keep on going and going and....

Mostly journalists...sounds like Usama might have lost some of his photographers who report to al jazerra in that crash.

I suppose it's possible the crash was caused by CIA lightning.
To: 68skylark
I'm guessing sabotage. All it takes is one.

Why do I get the feeling either Israeli or CIA black ops types had a hand in this? Its just as likely a little 'house cleaning' by the new Iranian President to insure his own radicals are in place in high military positions.

It's fair. They want to decapitate infidels; their military leadership gets decapitated.
